DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Triumph Speed Twin 1200 built for closed-course events, with lights removed and safety wiring in place, asks far more of its front brakes than the road version ever will. Accossato offers the AGPA112 front pad for the Speed Twin 1200 of 2019 and 2020 in its EV2 racing compound. It is made for competition, where repeated heavy stops from speed, consistent feel lap after lap and clear braking markers are the priority, and where a pad has time to reach its working temperature.
Key Features
- EV2 racing compound, article AGPA112EV2
- Front of the Triumph Speed Twin 1200, 2019 and 2020
- For competition and closed-course events
- Accossato calls it a top racing compound
- Two pads per box; two boxes for both calipers
- Also produced as OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes EV2 as one of its top racing compounds. It is designed for the loads and temperatures of competition. The company's general aims, limited wear, controlled heat and reduced fade, and high stopping power, apply to this compound as well. Racing pads need to be warm to perform fully, so the first laps of each session should be used to bring them up to temperature.
Consistency Over a Race Distance
Races are often won in the braking zones, and consistency matters as much as power. A pad that behaves the same on the last lap as on the first lets the rider brake at the same marker every time. On a Speed Twin 1200 prepared for competition, the EV2 compound is designed to provide that. Between sessions, check fluid level and colour, examine pads for glazing or cracks, and look at the discs for heat discolouration. Note the rider's comments and compare them over the weekend.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Triumph Speed Twin 1200 years named for this pad are 2019 and 2020, according to Accossato. The bike carries a caliper on each side of the front wheel, so two boxes are needed to renew the front. For the rear, the AGPA76 appears in Accossato's list from 2019 to 2023. Organic, Sintered, EV1 and ZXC versions of the AGPA112 also exist.
Road Approval
This racing pad has no ABE and we hold no road approval document for it. It is sold for racing and closed-circuit use.
