DescriptionThe whole story▼
An EV2 racing pad on an adventure tourer is a specialised choice, and we present it as one. Accossato nevertheless lists front pad AGPA109 in its EV2 racing compound for the Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom from 2014 to 2019, including the XT and XT Adventure. It is meant for the owner who has prepared a V-Strom for circuit racing, for example in an endurance-style club event or a class for big twins.
Key Features
- Front pad AGPA109 for Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom, 2014 to 2019
- Also for V-Strom XT 2017 to 2019 and XT Adventure 2019
- EV2 racing compound, article number AGPA109EV2
- Accossato: a top racing compound
- For repeated hard stops in club races
- Only for bikes prepared for competition
- ST, EV1 and ZXC are also listed
Construction and Material Quality
EV2 is one of Accossato's top racing compounds, built for the heat and repeated loading of competition. On a heavy twin like the V-Strom, the front brakes absorb a great deal of energy at the end of every straight. The company, which started out in Moncalieri near Turin in 1969, says its pads combine low wear, controlled heating and high stopping power.
Club Racing a Big Twin
Endurance-style club races and classes for large twins attract some unusual machines, and a stripped-down V-Strom is one of them. The long straights end in hard stops, and a racing compound is designed to keep its bite lap after lap.
Such a pad is not ideal for cold road riding, which is why we recommend it only for bikes that race. For a road V-Strom, the Sintered or EV1 versions of the same plate are the better options.
In the pit lane, check pad thickness and fluid level between sessions, and make sure the ABS behaves as expected with the new pads before pushing hard.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA109 for the front of the DL1000 V-Strom 2014 to 2019, the V-Strom XT 2017 to 2019 and the XT Adventure 2019. The rear pad for these bikes is AGPP148. With two front calipers, two boxes are needed. Bed the pads in during the first practice laps.
Road Approval
We do not hold an ABE or German approval for this compound. It is sold for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
