DescriptionThe whole story▼
Cruiser racing may be a niche, but it exists: some circuits run classes for heavy custom bikes, and a few Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 owners enjoy the challenge of timing a long, low twin around a track. For them, Accossato lists front pad AGPA92 in EV2 racing, which it calls its top racing compound, for the 2023 Super Meteor 650. This pad is for competition only, designed for hard stops at braking markers and full sessions on the circuit.
Key Features
- AGPA92 front pad for the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, 2023
- EV2 racing mixture, article number AGPA92EV2
- Accossato: a top racing compound
- For timed sessions and cruiser race classes
- Designed for repeated hard braking from speed
- Also offered as OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's own description of EV2 racing is short and to the point: a top racing compound. It is designed for competition, where the front brake of a heavy machine such as the Super Meteor 650 is used at full pressure lap after lap. Accossato's pads are also designed to have a long service life, limited fading and a strong stopping effect.
A Heavy Twin on the Circuit
On track, the weight of a cruiser becomes the main challenge for the front brake. Every stop at the end of a straight turns a lot of speed into heat, and a racing pad is designed to cope with this load repeatedly.
Ground clearance is limited on a cruiser, so riders often brake in a straight line and then roll off the brake early before turning in. A firm, consistent bite helps to ensure that this braking phase is short and precise.
Preparing for a Track Session
Flush the system with fresh fluid before the event, check the caliper for leaks and warm the pads up on the out lap. After each session, check the lever travel and inspect the pad surface for glazing.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA92 for the front of the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 only for 2023, and does not currently list any other pads or discs for the bike. With a single front disc and one caliper, the Super Meteor 650 needs one box. Clean the pistons before pushing them back.
Road Approval
We do not have any ABE or German test papers for this pad. EV2 is available for competition use only.
Scope of Delivery
One set of two EV2 racing pads for the front caliper.
