DescriptionThe whole story▼
Sprint races in a naked-bike class are short and intense, and the grid is often decided by a few hundredths in qualifying. This EV2 racing front set fits the MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR from 2016 to 2022 and is meant for riders who have turned the triple into a race bike and need a compound that is at home under repeated full-effort stops.
Key Features
- EV2 racing compound for the front of the Brutale 800 RR
- Listed for 2016 to 2022
- Accossato describes it as a top racing compound
- Designed for qualifying laps and sprint races
- Meant for heavy, repeated stops at race pace
- Two pads in the box, one caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato presents EV2 as a top racing compound, and that is where its role ends and begins. It is not intended for the commute. As with the company's other pads, the goals are long life, stability through limited heat build-up and strong stopping power, but applied here to a session of maximum effort rather than a relaxed ride. Accossato's history in competition includes an Enduro world title won in 1985.
Qualifying and the Sprint Race
A Brutale 800 RR in race trim reaches high speed on the straights and must shed it in a very short distance. In qualifying the rider tries to brake a fraction later on every lap, and in a sprint race there is no time to warm into it. EV2 is chosen for that intensity. Riders who use it are typically working with lap times and sector splits, not just enjoying a ride. The alternative racing mixture in this shape is ZXC; OR, ST and EV1 cover the road.
During the Meeting
Install fresh pads in both calipers before the event and bed them in with progressively harder stops during the first practice. Check thickness after each session and look for heat marks on the discs. Keep the fluid fresh, clean the pistons before retracting them and never let chain lube or cleaner reach the pads.
Fitment and Compatibility
This EV2 pad, catalogued as AGPA96, fits the front of the MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR from model years 2016 to 2022. The RR's rear uses AGPA42, listed up to 2025. If the bike has been converted to aftermarket calipers, confirm that the shape still matches before ordering. The front needs two boxes, one per caliper.
Road Approval
We have no ABE, test mark or road approval documents for this pad. It is offered for racing and competition only.
Scope of Delivery
Two racing pads in one box for one caliper. No additional parts.
