Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes EV2 as a top racing compound, without friction data or materials. The company's general claims apply: slow wear, long life and reduced fade through controlled heat. On an Adventure R at circuit pace, the long-travel fork compresses heavily under braking, and a pad that stays consistent through a session helps the rider control that weight transfer.
A Dirt Bike Among the Race Bikes
Seeing a 1090 Adventure R on a race track is rare, but some riders enjoy the challenge. EV2 is designed for hard, repeated stops at circuit speed and for keeping its feel as the laps build up. Between sessions, check pad depth, look at the discs and keep the fluid fresh. EV1 is the more practical compound for road and occasional track use, and ZXC is the ceramic racing alternative.
Preparing for a Circuit
Before a track event, bleed the R's front brakes, clean the discs thoroughly and bed the EV2 pads in during a gentle first session. Consider fitting road tyres suited to the track, as knobbly tyres limit grip under hard stops. Soften the fork compression a little only if you know the R's settings well, and note every change so you can return to the trail setup afterwards.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA96 for the front of the KTM 1090 Adventure R, 2017 to 2019. With two front calipers, two boxes are needed. Our range currently has no Accossato rear pad for this model. Clean the pistons before pushing them back and pump the lever to full pressure.
Road Approval
We have no approval documents for EV2 pads; in Germany they are sold for racing and competition only.
