DescriptionThe whole story▼
Stripped of mirrors and number plate, a Kawasaki Z1000 makes a capable club racer, and several naked-bike and open classes welcome it. For owners who race or run timed sessions, Accossato offers the AGPA109 front pad in the EV2 racing compound, catalogued for the Z1000 of 2010 to 2019, the ABS model of 2015 to 2019 included. It is built for the weekend when every lap starts with a full-effort stop and the rider needs the same response at the flag as at the start.
Key Features
- AGPA109 front pads for the Kawasaki Z1000, 2010 to 2019
- EV2 racing compound, article AGPA109EV2
- Accossato's top racing mixture
- For hard, repeated stops at race pace
- Aimed at naked-bike classes and timed practice
- Also produced on this plate as ST, EV1 and ZXC
- No German approval documents; circuit use only
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato ranks EV2 among its top racing compounds, intended for riders who brake at the limit lap after lap. The company also says its pads avoid overheating, which keeps fade in check, that they last and that they deliver high stopping power. The EV2 layer is bonded to the AGPA109 plate.
A Naked Bike in Race Trim
Converting a Z1000 for racing usually means removing road equipment, fitting race bodywork or a simple belly pan, and reworking the suspension. The front brake then faces a new routine: a hard stop from high speed at the end of each straight, followed by trail braking into the corner. EV2 is designed to deliver that routine consistently over practice, qualifying and race.
Between sessions, check pad depth and disc condition, and bleed the system if the lever begins to travel further. Clean the pistons before pressing them back when changing pads, and keep brake cleaner well away from the tyres. A spare set in the toolbox saves a lot of stress on a busy race day.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA109 for the front of the Z 1000 from 2010 to 2016 and the Z 1000 ABS from 2015 to 2019; our garage shows the Kawasaki Z1000. The rear pad AGPP102 is catalogued for 2003 to 2019, and the DKS042 disc is offered as well. With twin front calipers, the Z1000 needs two boxes.
Road Approval
We hold no ABE or approval mark for AGPA109EV2. It is intended for racing.
