DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Kawasaki Ninja 650 has a strong following in club racing, where its twin-cylinder engine and light chassis make it a popular choice for twins and lightweight classes. For riders who race their bike, Accossato lists its AGPA72 front pad in the EV2 racing mixture for the 2017 to 2023 model. Accossato calls EV2 a top racing compound, designed for the heavy braking and high temperatures of race weekends.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato ranks EV2 among its top racing compounds, and that is the whole of its claim. What a club racer on a Ninja 650 can read into it is a pad chosen for the brutal end of the scale: stops from the fastest part of the lap, one after another, with the discs running far hotter than any road ride would ever take them. According to Accossato, keeping heat under control is also how its pads limit fade. The EV2 friction block is joined to the regular AGPA72 plate.
Club Racing a Ninja 650
Grids for lightweight twins are full of Ninja 650s, and the racing is close. Places are often won and lost on the way into a slow corner, where riders line up side by side and the one who stops last and straightest takes the position. Qualifying is the same story compressed into a single lap. For that kind of fight Accossato offers EV2, a compound aimed squarely at the racer rather than the road rider.
Race preparation starts in the workshop. Flush in fresh high-boiling fluid, bleed until no bubbles appear and measure both discs. Use the first free practice to bed the pads in with increasingly heavy stops rather than going flat out on lap one. In the evening, look for blue discolouration on the discs and glazing on the pad surfaces, and note any change in lever travel for the next day.
Fitment and Compatibility
Racers building a Ninja 650 from a road bike should know which references apply. AGPA72 is Accossato's front pad for the 2017 to 2023 machines; AGPP88 handles the rear from 2017 to 2026, and DK236 is the Accossato disc for the bike. Since the front wheel carries two calipers and a box contains one set, plan for two boxes at the front, plus spares for the weekend.
Road Approval
AGPA72EV2 has no ABE or German approval document in our possession. It is intended for racing.
