DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Honda CBR 1000 RR sold from 2017 to 2019 was the base for Honda's superbike efforts of its time and remains a serious tool in national championships and club racing. Stopping hard from a long straight into a slow corner is where laps are won and lost on such a bike. For its front calipers Accossato lists the AGPA250, and article AGPA250EV2 carries the EV2 racing mixture, which the factory calls a top racing compound. It is aimed at riders who chase tenths in qualifying and need the same bite on the last lap of the race.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade, 2017 to 2019
- EV2 racing mixture on the AGPA250 shape, article AGPA250EV2
- Called a top racing compound by Accossato
- Made for late braking points and timed sessions
- One set per box, two boxes for both front calipers
- ST, EV1 and ZXC are the alternatives on the same carrier
- No German ABE on file, racing use only
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato gives the EV2 a clear role: it is a pad for competition, where the rider brakes at the limit many times per lap. The general qualities the company names for its range apply too, namely slow wear, heat kept in check to limit fade and powerful stopping. Because it is built on the same AGPA250 carrier as every other version, it can replace a street mixture on race morning without changing anything else in the caliper. Accossato, founded in 1969 in Moncalieri near Turin, has made components for competition for decades.
Qualifying and the Late Marker Board
In qualifying, a rider on a CBR 1000 RR tries to brake later at every corner than in practice. The front pads then decide whether the bike stops where it should or runs wide. A racing mixture is expected to give a strong, predictable response right from the start of the lever travel, so the rider can trust the same marker every lap.
Some preparation reduces risk. Bed the pads in during free practice, never on the qualifying out lap. Keep an eye on disc condition after every session, and check that fluid has not darkened from heat. If lever travel grows, bleed the system before the race rather than hoping it will hold.
Fitment and Compatibility
This article is listed for the CBR 1000 RR from 2017 to 2019. With two calipers at the front, two boxes make a complete set. Earlier bikes from 2004 to 2016 need the AGPA108, and the rear of the 2006 to 2019 models takes the AGPP39. Accossato's disc list for the model names DKS038 and DKS040. The SP and SP2 are not named on this front article.
Road Approval
Our files contain no ABE or German test mark for AGPA250EV2, so it is sold for use on closed circuits in competition.
Scope of Delivery
