DescriptionThe whole story▼
Older Fireblades have become popular race bikes. A Honda CBR 1000 RR from the 2004 to 2016 years is affordable, strong and supported by plenty of parts, which is why it appears on club grids and endurance entries across Europe. For racing on that bike, Accossato offers article AGPA108EV2, the EV2 racing mixture on the AGPA108 front shape. The factory calls it a top racing compound, and it is meant for riders whose weekend runs to a timetable: practice, qualifying and races, with hard stops at the end of every straight.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade from 2004 to 2016
- EV2 racing mixture, article AGPA108EV2
- Described by Accossato as a top racing compound
- For qualifying laps, late marker boards and full race distances
- One box fits one caliper, two calipers on the Fireblade front
- OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC share the shape for other uses
- Offered for racing; no German ABE on file
Construction and Material Quality
A racing compound is judged over a whole weekend rather than a single lap, and that is where Accossato points this material. The EV2 is built for repeated maximum stops and for keeping its behaviour as the session goes on. The manufacturer also names long life, reduced fade through controlled heat and high stopping power as qualities of its pads. The AGPA108 backing is shared by all five versions, so a team can keep spare sets in different mixtures that fit the same calipers without any change of hardware.
A Race Weekend Timetable
On Friday the rider learns the track and finds brake markers. On Saturday qualifying demands a single fast lap with the latest possible braking points. On Sunday the race asks for the same effort lap after lap while tyres go off and fuel burns down. The CBR 1000 RR is heavy on the brakes at the end of a long straight, and a pad chosen for this schedule has to hold up through all three days.
Prepare the bike accordingly. Fresh fluid before the weekend, clean pistons, and discs that have been checked for cracks and thickness are standard work. New pads should be bedded in during the first practice session rather than in qualifying. Between sessions, check pad wear and lever travel, and keep a spare set ready in the box for the race.
Fitment and Compatibility
AGPA108EV2 is listed for the CBR 1000 RR from 2004 to 2016. Two front calipers mean two boxes per change. For the 2017 to 2019 Fireblade, Accossato lists the AGPA250 at the front; the rear of the 2006 to 2019 bikes uses the AGPP39. The discs DKS038 and DKS040 are also listed.
Road Approval
Without an ABE or any German approval document in hand, we sell this racing article exclusively for track and competition.
