DescriptionThe whole story▼
Most Honda CB1100RS machines never see a race track, but a few are built for one and stripped of their road equipment for club racing. When that happens, the front brake needs a compound that works at circuit pace, lap after lap. Accossato's AGPA250 in EV2 racing, listed for the CB1100RS from 2017 to 2021, is the Italian firm's pure racing option for this front pad: made for qualifying laps, late stopping points and a full race distance.
Key Features
- EV2 racing front pads for the Honda CB1100RS, 2017 to 2021
- AGPA250 shape, article AGPA250EV2
- Called a top racing compound by Accossato
- Two pads per box, one caliper; two boxes for the front
- Same shape offered in Sintered (ST), EV1 street/track and ZXC ceramic racing
- AGPP88 listed at the rear
- No German ABE; for racing and competition only
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes EV2 as a top racing compound, and the name tells you where it belongs. It sits above the street and track mix in the range and is intended for riders who use the brake at its limit in competition. That means repeated hard stops from high speed with little time to cool, the conditions in which the consistency of a pad counts most. Accossato's pads are designed to limit their own heating and to deliver high stopping power, and in a racing compound both qualities are put to work on every lap.
Hard Markers and a Timed Lap
In qualifying there is no second chance at a corner. The rider on a CB1100RS race build picks a marker for each stopping point, hits the lever hard and progressively, and trails off towards the apex. Consistency is what makes this possible: if the pad behaves differently on lap five than on lap one, every marker moves. Prepare for a weekend with fresh fluid, fully bedded pads and discs checked for cracks or uneven wear. In the pit, check the lever travel after every session and look at the pads in both calipers. Record changes to lever position or pad condition so that each session builds on the last one.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA250 at the front of the Honda CB1100RS for 2017 to 2021, noted in its data as the ABS version. Two calipers stop the front wheel and one box sets up one of them, so a race build needs two boxes, fitted together. The catalogue gives the AGPP88 for the rear.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no test documentation for the EV2 pad are available to us, so we supply the AGPA250EV2 for competition and circuit riding.
