DescriptionThe whole story▼
Very few Heritage Classic owners take their windshield-equipped tourer to a track day, but Accossato still builds a compound for the ones who do. This EV2 racing pad set fits the front caliper of the Softail Heritage Classic FLSTC, built with the 1690 engine from 2015 to 2017, and is built around sustained, hard braking at speed rather than the gentle stops that make up nearly all of this bike's normal use.
Key Features
- EV2 racing compound for the Softail Heritage Classic FLSTC front caliper
- Listed by Accossato for model years 2015 to 2017
- Top-level racing bite, according to the maker
- Built for hard, repeated braking rather than gentle cold starts
- Suited to the rare Heritage Classic run on a circuit for the day
- Alternative ST and EV1 front compounds exist for the same caliper
- Two pads per box, enough for one front caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato calls this EV2 mixture one of its strongest racing compounds, built to give maximum bite under the kind of hard, repeated braking a circuit session demands. Hauling down a heavy, saddlebag-equipped tourer like the Heritage Classic from real speed, lap after lap, is a far cry from the gentle, cold-start stops of a normal day's riding, and this compound is built specifically for that unusual demand rather than for everyday use.
A Niche Choice for a Niche Day
Riders who bring a Heritage Classic onto a circuit tend to do it once, out of curiosity or for a charity track day, rather than as a regular habit, but the front brake still has to cope with sustained, hard use that the bike was never really designed around. This EV2 set is matched to that one-off demand, holding consistent bite under sustained heat where a softer, road-biased compound would fade well before the session ends, and it is worth remembering that the extra weight of the windshield and saddlebags does not go away just because the bike is on a track for the day.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists this EV2 pad for the Softail Heritage Classic FLSTC 1690 built from 2015 to 2017. Confirm your model year before ordering; the ST and EV1 front compounds also fit this caliper for riders who need the bike back on the road straight after.
Road Approval
No approval paperwork, such as a German ABE or a type approval mark, is available to us for this pad, so it is listed for racing and competition use only. Please check the rules in your own country before considering it for a road-going bike.
Scope of Delivery
Two brake pads in the box, one set for a single front caliper. Mounting hardware such as pins or springs is not part of the package.
