DescriptionThe whole story▼
It happens more often than the brochures suggest. A big travel bike has its luggage stripped off, the mirrors taped or removed, and is taken to a circuit for the day by an owner who wants to find out what it will do. Accossato's EV2 racing material exists for that use, and the company places it at the competition end of the pad range. AGPA106EV2 puts it on the AGPA106 front pad of the Multistrada V4 Rally, listed from 2023 to 2026.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally, 2023 to 2026
- AGPA106EV2: the AGPA106 carrier with Accossato's EV2 racing material
- The maker's competition material, described as a racing compound
- Chosen for closed courses and organised events rather than for touring
- Two calipers at the front, so plan on two boxes per change
- Every box holds the two pads one caliper closes onto
- ST, EV1 and ZXC press the same carrier for road-led duty
- No German ABE held; supplied as a competition part
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato says only that this is a racing compound, which is honest enough about where it belongs. Competition use means discs that never cool properly, applications that are hard and repeated, and any drift in behaviour becoming obvious to the rider within a lap or two. Those are the conditions under which the qualities the company claims for its pads in general, slow wear, contained heat and a firm result, are actually examined. The AGPA106 carrier is unchanged, so a Multistrada V4 Rally takes this article exactly as it takes the others.
Panniers Off for a Day at the Circuit
Taking a travel bike onto a circuit is an exercise in honesty. It is tall, it is heavy and it was designed with a fortnight in the mountains in mind, so nobody is going to chase sports bikes down the straight. What the day does reveal is how much the chassis will accept and how quickly the whole thing can be brought down from speed, which is almost entirely a question of the front brake and the rider's willingness to use it firmly.
That is where a competition material earns its place, and also where a sensible rider plans ahead. Fit the pads early enough for bedding in to be behind you. Bring a spare set if the day is a long one. Look at both front calipers each time the Rally comes in, because wear is rarely even between them. And when the luggage goes back on for the ride home, remember that this material was not chosen with a cold, damp car park in mind.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's entry puts the AGPA106 at the front of the Multistrada V4 Rally for 2023 to 2026. Two calipers share that wheel and each takes a set of its own, so a complete front change means two boxes. The rear of the same machine is served by the AGPA93 over the same seasons. There is no Accossato disc for the Rally, and the base V4 and the Pikes Peak carry front applications of their own.
Road Approval
No ABE and no German inspection paperwork are held for this article. It is sold as a competition part, for closed courses and organised events.
Scope of Delivery
One box with two AGPA106 pads in the EV2 racing material, the set for a single caliper. Both front calipers on the Multistrada V4 Rally want one.
