DescriptionThe whole story▼
Somebody always brings the unexpected motorcycle to a track day, and with a Multistrada V4 the joke stops after the first session. The motor needs no excuses and neither does the chassis; what the bike needs is a front brake willing to work at temperatures the public road never produces. Accossato's EV2 racing material is the company's competition answer, pressed onto the AGPA177 front pad as AGPA177EV2 and listed for the V4 across 2021 to 2026.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Ducati Multistrada V4, 2021 to 2026
- AGPA177EV2: the AGPA177 carrier and Accossato's EV2 racing material
- The maker's competition material, described only as a racing compound
- Chosen for closed courses and organised events
- Two calipers at the front of this machine, so order two boxes
- Each box is one caliper's set of two pads
- ST, EV1 and ZXC cover the same carrier for road-led use
- No German ABE held; sold as a competition part
Construction and Material Quality
A one-line description hides a fairly specific brief. Competition use means repeated hard applications from high speed with no recovery in between, and a material built for it has to keep its behaviour while the whole front of the bike is hot. The general claims Accossato makes for its range, slow wear, heat kept inside limits and a firm result at the disc, are worth most in that context and worth least in a traffic queue. The AGPA177 carrier is unchanged, so the difference between this article and its neighbours lies entirely in the friction layer.
The Largest Machine in the Session
Weight does not disappear when a motorcycle happens to be quick. A tall tourer carries its mass higher than a sports bike and shifts more of it forward when the lever comes back, so the rider has to be deliberate: squeeze rather than grab, let the fork take the load, and only then commit to the turn. Done properly, a Multistrada V4 is quick round a circuit and a genuine pleasure to ride there. Done properly, it also asks a great deal of the pads at the sharp end.
Riders who do this more than once a year plan for it. They arrive with a spare set instead of hoping, they bed new pads in during a deliberately calm outing, and they check the fluid between sessions along with everything else. It is worth remembering too that a competition material is picked for one job. If the V4 goes back to school runs and shopping on Monday, another suffix on the same carrier suits that week better.
Fitment and Compatibility
This front article covers the Multistrada V4 from 2021 to 2026. A caliper on each side of the wheel means every change takes two boxes, whichever material is chosen. Accossato lists the AGPA93 at the rear across the same period, and the disc side of the catalogue offers the DKS053. The Pikes Peak and the Rally are separate applications with their own front article, so this entry does not reach them.
Road Approval
There is no ABE and no German inspection paperwork for the AGPA177EV2 in our files. For a competition material that is the expected position, and the pads are supplied for closed-course use.
Scope of Delivery
One box with two AGPA177 pads in the EV2 racing material, the set for a single caliper. Both front calipers of the Multistrada V4 want one box each.
