DescriptionThe whole story▼
There is a point in a track weekend where a rider stops sightseeing and starts working on lap time, and the front brake is where most of that work happens. Accossato's EV2 racing material belongs to that end of the sport, and article AGPA106EV2 brings it to the AGPA106 front pad of the Multistrada 1260 S. A competition compound on a road-registered tourer is an unusual pairing, and one that only makes sense if the bike genuinely sees closed courses. The listing covers 2018 to 2020.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Ducati Multistrada 1260 S, seasons 2018 to 2020
- AGPA106EV2: the AGPA106 plate carrying the EV2 racing material
- Placed by Accossato at the racing end of its pad programme
- For timed sessions and organised events on closed courses
- Listed for the S, the S Pikes Peak and the S Grand Tour
- A caliper on each side of the front wheel, so two boxes
- Each box is two pads, one caliper's set
- No German ABE held; strictly a competition part
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's own line on this material is short, a racing compound, and the pad programme around it is written on three ideas: material that lasts, heat kept in check so the lever holds its position, and a firm result at the disc. A circuit tests all three inside the same twenty minutes. The firm builds these parts at Villastellone, south of Turin, and the plate here is the AGPA106 used by every other version of the article, which leaves the friction layer as the only variable in play.
Where the Marker Board Moves Later
Progress at a circuit tends to show up as a number on a board and a marker passed a little later. Both come out of the brake. A rider who trusts the lever will carry speed further down the straight and lose it in a shorter space; a rider who does not will do the reverse without ever quite knowing why. What counts is repeatability, the same pull giving the same result on lap ten as on lap two, with a Multistrada 1260 S that is heavier than most of what shares the track.
Between sessions the job is unglamorous. Look into the caliper mouth, note what is left of the pads, and decide before the next session rather than during it. Check the fluid. Give a new set a controlled bedding-in on the first laps out. And since a tourer of this size takes more mass into every corner than a supersport does, plan the pad change into the weekend instead of hoping to get away with one more run.
Fitment and Compatibility
The AGPA106 covers the front wheel of the Multistrada 1260 S across 2018, 2019 and 2020, taking in the Pikes Peak of the first two seasons and the S Grand Tour of the last. Two calipers share that axle, which means two boxes each time. The rear of the same machine uses the AGPA29, listed by Accossato from 2018 to 2021. No Accossato disc is quoted for this model, so disc work stays with the original parts.
Road Approval
There is no German approval on file here. Without an ABE and without a test certificate, the AGPA106EV2 stays where its description already places it, in racing and closed-course use.
Scope of Delivery
One box, two AGPA106 pads in the EV2 racing material, the set for a single caliper. A front change on the 1260 S takes two of them.
