Some owners measure their riding. A hillclimb, a sprint, a lap timer clipped to the bar of a machine that was sold as a travel bike: the BMW R 1200 GS of 2013 to 2018 turns up in all of them, usually in the hands of someone who owns one bike and enjoys it thoroughly. Accossato's EV2 racing compound exists for that use, and it is listed in the AGPA177 shape for the front wheel of this generation. The company's description is short, a top racing compound, and the material is not pretending to be anything else.

Construction and Material Quality
A racing material is designed around repetition. It is not asked to give one enormous stop but to give the same stop over and over while the discs stay hot, and Accossato builds its EV2 filling for precisely that duty, naming high stopping power and a limited rise in temperature as the reasons it does not fade. Everything else in this article number is shared with the milder versions: the same AGPA177 outline, the same backing, the same box with two pads in it for one caliper. What you are buying is the mixture, and with it a different set of expectations.
Repeated Stops Against the Clock
Riding against a clock is hard on a front brake in a way that fast road riding is not. On the road, a difficult descent lasts a few minutes and then the pace drops; in a timed run you repeat the heaviest stop of the course as often as the event allows, and on a circuit that means every lap for twenty minutes. The R 1200 GS brings its own arithmetic to this. It is a tall, substantial machine with a good deal of weight to control, and all of it arrives at the front pads at the end of the fastest section. Riders who do this regularly plan the cooling as carefully as the effort: a gentle in-lap rather than a hard stop at the pit entry, a look at the pads while the bike stands, and a habit of noting where the lever sat at the start of the session and where it sits at the end. If those two positions differ, the next set goes on before the next session, not after it.
Fitment and Compatibility
The listing runs from 2013 to 2018 for the R 1200 GS, front wheel only, and it does not extend to the air-cooled models that preceded this generation. Two calipers mean two boxes, and a racing material should never be fitted to one side alone. If the same bike also does the shopping, the ST material is the friendlier everyday choice, EV1 covers riders who divide their time between the two, and ZXC is the ceramic alternative at the same end of the range. The AGPA92 serves the rear wheel; the DK006 disc is also catalogued for this GS.
Road Approval
No approval of any kind, German ABE included, has been documented to us for the AGPA177EV2. It leaves us for racing and closed circuits, which matches the purpose Accossato states for the compound.
