DescriptionThe whole story▼
This is the article number to pick when the Benelli 502C in question is not being used as transport at all. Accossato calls EV2 racing a top racing compound, and puts it on the same AGPA112 front plate that serves the cruiser in its milder guises, for the 2019 machine and for the bikes of 2023 and 2024. Cruisers do turn up at closed events, sprint meetings and private test days, often stripped of mirrors and standing in a paddock, and the front brake on such a bike lives a different life from the one Benelli imagined.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Benelli 502C in the EV2 racing compound, article number AGPA112EV2
- Listed for the 2019 cruiser and for the model years 2023 and 2024
- Accossato describes this as a compound for racing, not for the commute
- Same plate and outline as the other AGPA112 article numbers
- OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC are the alternatives on that plate
- One caliper takes one box of two pads
- The rear of the same machine is served by the AGPA42 pad
- No German ABE on file; offered strictly for closed courses and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's own words for this material are brief and unambiguous: a racing compound of the highest grade in its catalogue. Nothing in that sentence is aimed at a rider running errands, and we would not dress it up as if it were. A race material is built to answer hard, repeated lever pressure and to keep answering while the temperature climbs; in exchange it asks for a rider who understands that the first stop of a cold day is not where it shows its worth. The plate, the outline and the box of two pads are shared with the rest of the family.
A Cruiser on a Closed Course
Take a low, long machine onto a circuit or a sprint course and the front brake becomes the busiest component on it. The wheelbase resists turning, so speed has to be shed in a straight line before the bike is asked to change direction, and the rider is hard on the lever at the end of every straight with nothing in front but cones or kerbing. Heat builds in a way that a Sunday ride never produces, and the pad has to give the same answer on the fourth run as on the first.
Work of that kind rewards preparation more than parts. Fresh fluid belongs in the system before an event, the disc face should be clean and free of any dressing that has wandered off the tyre, and a new set of pads wants a series of progressively firmer stops before it is trusted in anger. Between runs, look at how much material is left; on a 502C being used this way it disappears faster than the mileage would suggest.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application data ties this pad to the front wheel of the Benelli 502C in 2019 and in the 2023 to 2024 run, with no entry for the seasons between the two. Both sides of an axle should be changed together, and one box equips one caliper, so a full front set depends on how the bike is built; look before you order rather than after. No Accossato disc is catalogued for this cruiser, while the AGPA42 pad is listed at the rear for the same years, and four gentler materials exist on this front plate.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE for the AGPA112EV2 in our records and no approval mark to point at. We treat it as a competition part, which is also how its maker describes the compound.
