DescriptionThe whole story▼
Riders who take the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S of 2017 to 2023 onto fast, twisty roads often use the rear brake more than they realise, trailing it into bends and using it to steady the chassis. Accossato's AGPA29 rear pad in EV1 street/track is made for that kind of riding. The maker says EV1 offers excellent grip for road riding and amateur track use, and on the rear it gives a sharper, more direct pedal.
Key Features
- EV1 street/track rear pads, AGPA29EV1
- KTM 1290 Super Adventure S, years 2017 to 2023
- Accossato: excellent grip on the road and at amateur track level
- Direct, responsive rear pedal
- Suits trail braking into bends
- One box for the rear caliper
- Sold without ABE for racing
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato positions EV1 as a mixture for both road and amateur circuit use, with excellent grip in each. At the rear of an S, that means a pedal that responds promptly and gives clear feedback, so the rider can use the rear brake as a fine adjustment. The friction face is fixed to the AGPA29 plate. Like every Accossato pad, it is designed to limit heat and fade.
The Rear Pedal on a Tall Tourer
Trail braking with the rear is a quiet skill. A little pressure as you tip into a bend tightens the line and settles the suspension, and on a road-biased bike like the S it can make corner entry noticeably calmer. A direct compound makes that control easier, because the rider feels each small change at the pedal.
For a club track day or a fast ride with friends, check the rear pad depth and disc condition beforehand, and renew the fluid if it has aged. After fitting new pads, pump the pedal until it is firm and bed the pads in with a series of steadily harder stops. Inspect them again after the first outing.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA29 for the rear caliper of the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S across 2017 to 2023. The front calipers take the Accossato AGPA96. Compare the old pads with the new ones before fitting.
Road Approval
Without an ABE or approval mark for the AGPA29EV1 in our records, we sell it for circuit and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
One box with two AGPA29 pads in EV1, for the rear brake.
