DescriptionThe whole story▼
There is a kind of Sunday on which a BMW R1250GS Adventure gets ridden alone, empty and quickly, along a road with more corners than villages. The rear brake plays a quiet part in that. A touch of pedal on the way into a bend settles a tall chassis that would otherwise stand up and run wide. Accossato offers the AGPA92 in the EV1 street/track compound for the Adventure of 2019 to 2024, the material it describes as giving excellent grip for street riding and for amateur track use.
Key Features
- AGPA92EV1: rear pads in the EV1 street/track compound
- For the BMW R1250GS Adventure built from 2019 to 2024
- Accossato names brisk road riding and amateur track days as the field of use
- Two pads per box, the full set for the single rear caliper
- No second box needed at the rear of this machine
- OR, ST, EV2 and ZXC cover the same shape in other materials
- The front of the Adventure is served by the AGPA252
- No German ABE on record; supplied for track and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato puts the EV1 street/track material a step above what it offers for ordinary commuting and a step below its racing mixtures, and the wording reflects that: excellent grip on the road, with enough in reserve for amateur sessions on a circuit. At the rear of a big machine the value of such a material lies less in outright stopping power than in how predictably it answers a small movement of the ankle. The pad itself is the same AGPA92 outline as its relatives, with two of them to a box.
A Toe on the Pedal at Turn-In
Ask experienced riders of tall bikes what they do with the rear brake on a quick road and the answers converge. A trace of pressure held into the corner keeps the nose down and stops the bike pushing wide as the front is released, a touch on a bumpy descent stops the back wheel skipping, and none of it involves stamping on the pedal. What it does involve is many small, warm applications in quick succession, a heavier duty cycle than the rear of a touring bike normally sees. Set the pedal so the ball of your foot reaches it without moving your boot off the peg, because a rear brake you have to hunt for is a rear brake you will not use well. Every few outings, glance at how much material is left. Rear pads on a heavy bike disappear quietly.
Fitment and Compatibility
This pad is catalogued for the rear wheel of the R1250GS Adventure between 2019 and 2024, with no claim on other models in the range. A single caliper means a single box, and the pair should be replaced together even when only one of them looks worn. If the EV1 street/track character does not match your riding, the OR, ST, EV2 and ZXC numbers offer the alternatives. The front of the bike takes the AGPA252, and Accossato lists the DK006 as the disc for this model.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE in our files for the AGPA92EV1 and no approval mark we could point to. It is sold for closed circuits and competition, not for the public highway.
Scope of Delivery
One box with two AGPA92 pads in the EV1 street/track compound, the set for the rear caliper.
