Riders who have spent time on unsealed roads bring a habit back to the tarmac with them: they use the rear brake far more than everybody else. On a BMW R 1250 GS that habit is worth having, and it is worth supplying with a pad chosen on purpose. Accossato's EV1 street/track compound sits on the AGPA92 rear plate for the 2019 to 2023 boxer, and the company positions the material for road riding and for track sessions of the amateur kind.

Construction and Material Quality
This is the material Accossato offers to riders who want a firm, early response without buying a competition part. Its description covers two settings, the public road and amateur track use, and claims excellent grip in both. What the company says about its pads generally is relevant at the rear as well: the friction material wears slowly and keeps its stopping power available, which it attributes to heat that is held in check rather than allowed to build. The plate is shared with the other four numbers in the family, and a box holds the two pads a single caliper needs.
A Habit Brought Back From the Trail
Off the tarmac the rear brake is the primary one, and riders who learn there end up using their right foot constantly. On the road that shows itself in small ways: a touch of rear brake to settle the bike before a junction, a trailing application through a long downhill bend, a little pressure while manoeuvring instead of a handful of clutch. None of it is wrong on an R 1250 GS, which is heavy enough to appreciate being settled, but it does have a consequence. The rear pads on such a bike wear out far sooner than the front ones, sometimes at half the interval, and the owner who ignores that timetable is the one who finds metal on the disc. Check the rear at every service and keep the pedal set so that your foot rests on the peg and not on it. A gentle bedding-in after fitting is worth the ten minutes it costs.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's data covers the AGPA92 at the rear wheel of the R 1250 GS from 2019 to 2023, the Rallye included in our own list. The wheel has one caliper, so a single box is a complete change, and the pads are renewed as a pair. Four sister numbers carry other materials on this plate if the character does not suit, and at the front of the bike the AGPA252 spans the same years. The DK006 is Accossato's disc for the model. Clean the piston before it goes back and press the pedal until it firms up before riding away.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE for the AGPA92EV1 and no test documentation, so there is nothing here that covers public traffic. The pads are sold for competition and for use on closed circuits.
