DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Honda XL750 TRANSALP is light and eager enough to make a twisty back road genuinely entertaining, and some owners even take it to an open track day. For those riders Accossato offers the AGPA160 front right pad in its EV1 street/track mixture, listed for the 2023 and 2024 model years. It is meant for the rider who enjoys fast mountain roads on weekends and wants a sharper, stronger brake than a touring mixture provides, while still using the bike on the road during the week.
Key Features
- Front right pads for the Honda XL750 TRANSALP, 2023 to 2024
- Article AGPA160EV1 in the EV1 street/track mixture
- Very good grip on the road and at amateur track level, per Accossato
- Firmer bite for fast riding on winding roads
- Pairs of two, one box per right caliper
- Sold for competition use; no ABE held
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato positions EV1 between comfort and racing. The manufacturer says it provides excellent grip for road riding and amateur circuit use, a description that fits a keen rider on an adventure bike rather well. As with every mixture in the range, the company also names high stopping power, controlled heat and therefore less fade, plus measured wear. The AGPA160 plate itself is the same across its three versions.
Sporting Riding on an Adventure Bike
A long-travel fork dives more under braking than a sports bike, and a stronger pad makes that motion more pronounced. Riders of the XL750 TRANSALP who choose EV1 should apply the lever smoothly and let the suspension settle before increasing pressure. On a track day this becomes a useful skill in itself. Note that the left-hand AGPA212 is catalogued only in Sintered form, so the two front discs will carry different mixtures; test the brake carefully in a safe place before riding hard, and ride the first sessions with some reserve.
Fitment and Compatibility
AGPA160 is listed for the front right caliper of the Honda XL750 TRANSALP in model years 2023 and 2024. The left caliper needs AGPA212. We have no Accossato rear pad for this model. The AGPA160 is also available as Organic and Sintered. Before fitting, clean the pistons, check fluid and disc condition, and bed in the pads with gradually firmer stops.
Road Approval
An ABE or test certificate for the AGPA160EV1 has not been supplied to us, so the pads are meant for track and competition riding.
Scope of Delivery
The box contains two EV1 pads with the AGPA160 outline for the right front caliper.
