DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Yamaha XSR700 has a light chassis and a punchy twin, which makes it enjoyable on a tight, twisting road where quick direction changes and firm braking set the rhythm. For the XSR700 from 2016 to 2025, Accossato lists its AGPA97 front pad, and this listing is the EV1 street/track compound. It targets riders who brake hard into bends on weekend rides and who may book a novice trackday to explore the bike further.
Key Features
- AGPA97 front pad, EV1 street/track compound
- For the Yamaha XSR700, 2016 to 2025
- Excellent street grip, per Accossato
- Suitable for amateur track days
- Sharper initial response for corner entry
- One box per front caliper
- OR, ST, EV2 and ZXC also listed
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato says EV1 gives excellent grip for street riding and amateur track use. The compound is designed to respond well without a long warm-up on the road and to keep its behaviour through a series of hard stops on a trackday. In other words, it sits between the everyday mixes and the two racing compounds, and it keeps the general targets Accossato sets for every pad: moderate wear, heat kept in check against fade and a strong stopping effect.
Tight Roads and a Light Bike
On a tight mountain road, an XSR700 rider brakes firmly before each hairpin, turns in and accelerates out. EV1 provides a more immediate response than the everyday compounds, which helps the rider set the entry speed precisely on a light bike that changes direction quickly. The lever point stays consistent from the first bend to the last, even as the brakes warm.
A Novice Trackday
If you book a trackday, EV1 is designed for that pace. Bleed the brakes with fresh fluid beforehand, check the discs and clean the calipers. In the novice group, braking points come up quickly and the XSR700 will be stopped hard many times per lap, so check the lever between sessions. Let the brakes cool before the ride home, and remember that EV1 is no better or worse than the other versions of AGPA97; it simply suits this kind of riding.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA97 for the XSR 700 of 2016 to 2025; the rear pad is AGPP88. With two front calipers, the XSR700 needs two boxes for a full front change. Fit both sides together, clean the pistons before retracting them, pump the lever firm and bed in with progressively harder stops.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE or test certificate for this pad. EV1 is sold for track and competition use.
