DescriptionThe whole story▼
A big single like the Yamaha WR450F can make a strong supermoto when it is fitted with road wheels, and some owners of earlier bikes use theirs exactly that way on back roads and kart tracks. For the WR450F from 2003 to 2015, Accossato lists its AGPA51 front pad, and this listing is the EV1 street/track compound. It targets riders who use the WR450F on asphalt and want a front pad designed for spirited road riding and amateur track use.
Key Features
- AGPA51 front pad in EV1 street/track compound
- For the Yamaha WR450F, 2003 to 2015
- Excellent street grip, per Accossato
- Suited to amateur track sessions
- Sharper response on tarmac
- One box, front caliper
- OR, ST and STMX also available
Construction and Material Quality
EV1 is described by Accossato as giving excellent grip for street riding and amateur track use. It is the compound for tarmac: quick to respond without long warm-up and designed to keep its behaviour through repeated stops.
A 450 on Asphalt
With road wheels fitted, a WR450F becomes a strong supermoto. On tarmac, the front brake is loaded much more heavily than off-road, with the rider braking hard into tight turns. EV1 provides a sharper initial response, helping the rider brake precisely. On a kart track, where braking points follow each other closely, the lever point stays consistent through a session. EV1 is not intended for dirt riding.
Preparing the Brakes
Before a track session, bleed the brakes with fresh fluid, clean the caliper and check the disc. If you switch between dirt and asphalt, keep separate pads for each use.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA51 for the WR450F from 2003 to 2015; AGPA288 is listed for 2020 to 2022, with no front pad listed for 2016 to 2019. AGPP106 is the rear pad for 2003 to 2022. One front caliper needs one box. If you have fitted a larger front disc for supermoto use, make sure the caliper still takes this pad. Accossato's disc list for the model includes DK111, DK168, DK268 and DK269.
Road Approval
No German ABE or test mark is available. EV1 is supplied for track and competition use.
