DescriptionThe whole story▼
Riders who discover that the Yamaha Niken can corner remarkably hard on a good road sometimes want a sharper front brake to match. Accossato's AGPA97EV1 is the front pad for the Niken from 2018 to 2024 in the EV1 street/track compound. It is designed for owners who enjoy fast, flowing roads on their three-wheeler and might try it at an open track day, and who want a stronger initial response than the everyday compounds offer.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Yamaha Niken, 2018 to 2024
- Article AGPA97EV1, EV1 street/track compound
- Accossato: excellent grip on the road and for amateur track use
- For fast road riding and open track days
- Two pads per box, one set for one caliper
- Count the Niken's front calipers and order a box for each
- Plate also made in OR, ST, EV2 and ZXC
- No German ABE on file; for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Inside this box is Accossato's EV1 material, bonded to the same AGPA97 plate that the Niken shares with several MT models. The Italian maker pitches it at riders who split their time between public roads and the occasional amateur circuit outing, and says it grips very well in both. Compared with the gentler compounds for the Niken, expect the lever to wake up sooner in its travel. The usual Accossato design intent, keeping pad temperatures moderate so fade stays away, carries over to this material.
Cornering Hard on Three Wheels
The Niken's front end allows it to lean and grip in a way that surprises many riders, and on a good road it can be ridden with real pace. That makes accurate speed control before corners important. A sportier pad such as EV1 lets the rider set entry speed precisely with small lever inputs. If you take the Niken to an open track day, check with the organiser that three-wheelers are accepted, prepare the brakes with fresh fluid and ample pad material, and build up pace gradually. On the road, a sportier compound still needs a moment to warm up on a cold morning.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato fits the AGPA97 to the front of the Yamaha Niken for 2018 to 2024, with no rear pad listed for this model. The two front wheels each carry their own brake, so count the calipers and order one box per caliper, renewing them all together. Clean the pistons, inspect the discs and replace old fluid. Accossato's DK077 and DKS073 discs are also on its list for the Niken. Bed in the pads before riding hard.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no test certificate for this pad are in our records. The AGPA97EV1 is therefore offered for circuit and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
One box with two Accossato AGPA97 pads in EV1 street/track compound, for one front caliper of the Niken.
