DescriptionThe whole story▼
Lower seat height, same eager triple: the Triumph Tiger 800 XRX LOW of 2018 to 2020 is as happy on a sweeping hill road as its taller siblings. For owners who ride it that way, and perhaps book a novice session at a circuit, Accossato lists front pad AGPA29 in its EV1 street/track compound. It gives a firmer, more immediate response than the everyday mixes, which suits riders who like to leave their stops late and want the lever to answer at once.
Key Features
- AGPA29 front pad in EV1 street/track compound
- Listed for the Triumph Tiger 800 XRX LOW, 2018 to 2020
- Accossato: excellent grip for road riding and amateur circuit use
- Immediate bite for committed riders
- Two pads per box, one front caliper
- Also offered in OR, ST and STMX
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's description of EV1 is concise: excellent grip for street riding and for amateurs on track. It is a step up in bite from the touring and everyday options, and it expects to be used with some firmness. The brand's general claims, slow wear, a restrained rise in temperature that keeps fade at bay and a strong stop, apply to it as they do to its other pads.
Hill Roads and Novice Sessions
There is a common assumption that a LOW model is a gentle bike for gentle riders. Plenty of owners prove otherwise on their favourite stretch of bends, and for them a sharper front pad adds confidence when braking deep into a tightening corner. A novice or intermediate group at a track day is the next step, and there the pad has to cope with repeated stops from higher speeds. Arrive with fresh fluid, healthy discs and pads that have been properly bedded in, take off the luggage, and build speed in stages. The lower suspension of this model compresses under hard stops just as the standard one does, so smooth inputs remain the key. For relaxed commuting, OR is the kinder compound; for touring in rain, ST.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA29 for the Tiger 800 XRX LOW between 2018 and 2020. Two front calipers are fitted, so two boxes are needed to renew them both. At the rear, Accossato lists AGPP89 for the same years. Clean each piston before pressing it back, and let the brakes cool fully after a hard session before covering the bike.
Road Approval
Our records show no German ABE or test mark for AGPA29EV1, so it is supplied for circuit and competition riding.
