DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Dominator 961 has the posture of a café racer, and its riders tend to like fast bends and quick direction changes. Accossato's AGPA177 front pad in EV1 street/track is listed for the Norton Dominator 961 from 2017 to 2019. It is designed for riders who want a more assertive front brake on their favourite roads and who occasionally take the Dominator to a track day or a coached circuit session.
Key Features
- AGPA177 front pads for the Norton Dominator 961, 2017 to 2019
- EV1 street/track compound, SKU AGPA177EV1
- Accossato: excellent grip on the road and for amateur track use
- Assertive bite for quick direction changes
- Repeatable under hard braking
- Works on the road ride home
- One set for one caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's description of EV1 is simple: excellent grip for street riding and for amateur track use. The compound is made to work across the temperature range of a sporty road ride and a handful of fast laps. Like all Accossato compounds, it is designed to wear slowly and resist fading.
Café Racer Roads
A café racer shows its character on a road with a rhythm: a series of bends where the rider brakes, turns and accelerates in a flowing sequence. On such a road the Dominator 961 rewards a front brake that bites crisply and predictably, so that short, firm stops fit naturally into the rhythm. EV1 gives that crisp response without being harsh, and it stays consistent from the first bend to the last. On a track day, it manages several sessions of hard braking. Check the pads before and after the day, and remember that clip-on bars place more weight on the wrists; a strong front brake is easier to use when your core supports your upper body. After a hard day, let the brakes cool before covering the bike.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA177 for the front of the Dominator Naked 961 in 2017 to 2019, and AGPA42 for the rear. For all-weather touring, the Sintered (ST) version of the front plate is available; for competition, EV2 racing. Check the number of front calipers; one box covers one caliper.
Road Approval
We hold no German ABE or test report for AGPA177EV1. The pads are sold for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
Two EV1 front pads for one caliper.
