DescriptionThe whole story▼
Not every Chief Dark Horse is ridden gently. Some owners fit sportier suspension, scrape the floorboards on mountain roads and try their hand at a cruiser track day. For those riders Accossato offers the AGPA38 front pad in EV1 street/track, listed for the Indian Chief Dark Horse from 2015 to 2023. The compound sits between an everyday road pad and a racing mixture, trading a little comfort for a sharper, stronger bite.
Key Features
- Accossato AGPA38 in EV1 street/track
- For the Indian Chief Dark Horse, 2015 to 2023
- Excellent road grip and amateur track ability, says Accossato
- For performance-minded cruiser riders
- Also offered for this pad: ST, EV2, ZXC
- Two pads for one caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato positions EV1 as a compound with excellent grip for street riding and amateur circuit use. That means it has to bite convincingly at the moderate temperatures of a fast road ride and still hold up when a few hard laps heat the front brake. For a heavy machine like the Dark Horse, the extra initial response is noticeable. EV1 follows Accossato's general design goals of low wear and fade kept under control.
Floorboards on the Tarmac
Riders who push a Chief Dark Horse through twisty roads soon discover how much braking a big cruiser needs before each bend. EV1 gives the front brake a stronger first bite and a firmer feel, which helps the rider set entry speed precisely. It is still a road-capable pad, so the ride home after a track day is not a problem. When fitting a new set, give it several progressively firmer stops on a quiet road, and inspect the discs for uneven deposits.
Fitment and Compatibility
This pad follows Accossato's catalogue line for the Chief 1800 Dark Horse, which runs from 2015 to 2023. No additional Accossato pad or disc is listed for this version. One box contains a set for one caliper; verify how many your Chief Dark Horse carries at the front. Clean the pistons before retracting them, and pump the lever until firm before the first ride.
Road Approval
We have no test report or German ABE for the EV1 pad, so it is offered for circuit and competition use.
