DescriptionThe whole story▼
A tall adventure bike on a racetrack still draws curious looks, but open track days welcome every kind of motorcycle, and the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin is capable of an entertaining session. Accossato offers its front pads for the CRF1100L Africa Twin of 2020 to 2026 in the EV1 street/track compound, which the company made for sporty road riding and amateur use on the circuit.
Key Features
- EV1 street/track front pads for the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin, 2020 to 2026
- Accossato: high grip for road riding and amateur track use
- For riders who brake late and hard
- Suited to open track days and hobby sessions
- One box per caliper; two needed for the full front
- Also offered in OR and ST
- No German ABE on record; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato says EV1 street/track offers strong grip both for road riding and for amateur track use. It is meant for riders who ask more of the brakes than normal riding requires. Accossato describes all of its pads as long-lived, strong in stopping and slow to overheat, which limits fade. Accossato, which started out in 1969 in Moncalieri near Turin, has since then supplied parts for road and competition motorcycles.
Preparing a Tall Bike for the Circuit
Before a track day on the CRF1100L Africa Twin, check the basics: brake fluid should be fresh, the pads should have plenty of friction material left and both front discs should be free of deep grooves. Tape over the lights and mirrors if the organiser asks for it. On track, the tall suspension dives more under braking than a sports bike does, so build the pressure progressively rather than grabbing the lever. After each session, ride a slow cool-down lap and avoid holding the front brake at a standstill, which can leave pad material on a hot disc.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list for this set covers the CRF 1100 L Africa Twin of 2020 to 2026 and the Adventure Sports of the same period. The front wheel has two calipers, so order two boxes. The rear of the 1100 takes the AGPP88, which Accossato lists from 2020 to 2026. Compare an old pad with the image, clean the pistons before pushing them back, and bed the new EV1 pads in with a series of increasing stops.
Road Approval
The EV1 pads have no German ABE or type test on file; we sell them for trackdays and competition only.
