DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Honda CB 1300 S may look like a gentleman's tourer, but its big four-cylinder engine pulls hard, and some owners ride it briskly on open country roads. For the CB 1300 S of 2011 to 2015, Accossato offers the AGPA87 front pad in the EV1 street/track compound. Accossato says EV1 gives strong grip for road riding and amateur track use. It is the pad for riders who want a firmer, more immediate front brake on a fast road bike.
Key Features
- Front brake pads for the Honda CB 1300 S, 2011 to 2015
- EV1 street/track compound, article number AGPA87EV1
- Strong grip on road and circuit, according to Accossato
- A more direct lever for brisk riding
- The same pad also comes as OR and ST
- Two pads per box; the front needs two boxes
- No German ABE; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
EV1 is Accossato's compound for sporty road riders and amateur circuit use. The manufacturer promises strong grip in both settings. On the CB 1300 S the pads are cut to the AGPA87 outline and replace the old set in the original calipers, so nothing else on the brake needs to change.
Brisk Riding on a Big Machine
Riding a heavy bike quickly is mostly about braking. A CB 1300 S carries a lot of mass into each corner, and the front brake has to take it off in a short distance. A pad with strong initial bite gives the rider confidence to brake later and more precisely. That does not mean braking harder all the time: the aim is to be smooth, finish braking before the bend, and roll through it with the bike settled. Make sure the tyres and suspension of an older bike are in good condition before raising the pace. Fork oil that has not been changed for years lets the front dive further under braking, and that alters how the whole bike reacts to a firm squeeze of the lever.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato catalogues AGPA87 for the CB 1300 S from 2011 to 2015. There are two front calipers, so two boxes renew the whole front. For the rear, AGPP88 covers the same years. After fitting, bed in the new pads with several progressive stops before riding fast.
Road Approval
We hold no German ABE or test certificate for AGPA87EV1, so the set is offered for racing and competition.
Scope of Delivery
