DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Honda CB 1000 R with ABS, built from 2008 to 2016, is a quick bike on a twisting road, and plenty of owners want a front brake to match their pace. Accossato's AGPA87 pad is available for it in the EV1 street/track compound. According to Accossato, EV1 offers strong grip on the street and for amateur track riding. It is meant for the sporting rider who spends Sunday mornings on the local hill roads and occasionally takes the naked to a circuit.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Honda CB 1000 R ABS, 2008 to 2016
- EV1 street/track compound, article number AGPA87EV1
- Strong grip on road and track, according to Accossato
- Firm bite for spirited riding
- The same pad is available as OR and ST
- Two pads per box; two boxes for the complete front
- No German ABE; supplied for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato designed EV1 for sporty road riders and amateur racers. The company describes a high level of grip in both settings. The pad has the outline listed for the ABS model and slides into the calipers in place of the old set. Like all its pads, Accossato says, it is made for low wear, reduced fading and strong stopping power.
Sunday Morning in the Hills
A good hill road has a rhythm: a short straight, a hard stop, a tight bend, and then the same again. The front brake of a CB 1000 R works hardest in that kind of riding, especially when the road goes downhill. An EV1 pad provides a firm, direct feel at the lever, so the rider can brake late and precisely. The ABS remains as a safety net for unexpected gravel or a damp patch, but on a clean road the pads do the work. Riding in a group, let the slower riders set the pace in the first few bends.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list shows AGPA87 for the CB 1000 R ABS of 2008 to 2016, while the model without ABS is listed with AGPA108. Compare with the pads you remove if unsure. The two front discs have a caliper each, and one box covers one caliper. AGPP55 is the rear pad for these years.
Road Approval
No German ABE or test certificate for AGPA87EV1 is available to us. It is sold for racing and competition.
