DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some owners of the Pan America 1250 Special, built for the 2021 and 2022 model years, use the bike's extra equipment for comfort but still enjoy pressing on along a fast sealed road, and this Accossato front pad set in the EV1 street/track compound is built for exactly that habit. Fitted to the front caliper, it gives strong, confident braking on tarmac and copes with an occasional track day too, without needing to be swapped for a softer pad in between.
Key Features
- EV1 street/track compound for the Pan America 1250 Special front caliper
- Listed by Accossato for the 2021 and 2022 model years
- Strong road grip plus amateur track-day capability, according to the maker
- No pad change needed between a fast road ride and a first circuit outing
- Suited to a Special-trim tourer ridden briskly on sealed roads
- Alternative ST, EV2 and ZXC front compounds exist for the same caliper
- Two pads per box, enough for one front caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato places its EV1 mixture above the everyday compounds in its range, built to give strong grip for quick road riding as well as for amateur track days rather than for slow, cold commuting. On the Special, whose extra kit adds weight for comfort and range, a front pad with confident initial bite under hard braking is useful on fast, demanding roads, where the rider is carrying real speed into bends rather than cruising between fuel stops.
Pace on the Road, Capability on Track
A Pan America Special ridden hard along a favourite set of roads, then occasionally booked onto a track day to see how it copes with more lean angle, benefits from one pad that covers both jobs. This EV1 set is built with that crossover in mind, working from cold on the ride out and holding its performance once the track surface and the pad itself have warmed up, so the rider is not caught out by a compound suited to only one half of the day.
Fitment and Compatibility
This EV1 pad is listed for the Pan America 1250 Special RA1250S front caliper, built in the 2021 and 2022 model years; Accossato makes three further compounds for this same caliper, so check your exact trim and year before ordering.
Road Approval
We hold no test or approval paperwork, such as a German ABE or a type approval mark, for this pad, so it is listed for racing and competition use where such documents are required for road riding. Check your own country's rules first.
Scope of Delivery
Two brake pads in the box, one set for a single front caliper. No mounting pins, springs or other hardware are included in the package.
