DescriptionThe whole story▼
Evening track sessions are the most civilised way to ride a circuit. Two hours after work, four short runs, and the light going gold over the last one. A Ducati Panigale 959 of 2016 to 2020 is close to ideal for that format: quick enough to make the straights worthwhile, forgiving enough that a rider is not exhausted after twenty minutes. Accossato's front pad for the machine uses the AGPA177 carrier, and this article carries the EV1 street/track material, which the firm offers for road riding and amateur circuit use in equal measure.
Key Features
- Front brake pads for the Ducati Panigale 959, model years 2016 to 2020
- AGPA177EV1: the AGPA177 carrier in the EV1 street/track material
- Accossato rates the compound for the street and for amateur track sessions
- Written for short evening runs and fast weekend roads
- Two pads per box, the pair for one caliper
- Two calipers grip the front wheel, so a full change means two boxes
- ST, EV2 and ZXC are the other materials on this carrier
- No German ABE recorded; supplied for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
A compound asked to work in two worlds has to be honest about both, and Accossato states the position clearly: grip for street riding, grip for amateur track work, one friction layer covering the pair. In an evening session that translates into a pad which is useful on the out lap, when nothing has any heat in it, and still composed four runs later. The carrier is the AGPA177 in all cases, shared with the materials above and below this one, so nothing about how the part sits in the caliper of a 959 depends on the compound chosen.
Four Runs Before the Light Goes
The format has its own rhythm. There is no time to build up slowly over a whole day, so the first run is spent remembering where the circuit goes, the second and third are the useful ones, and the last is ridden with long shadows across the braking areas and a rider who is starting to feel it. Nothing gets as hot as it would on a full day, but the front end of a Panigale 959 still sees more heat in twenty minutes than a week of ordinary riding gives it.
Short sessions reward a small amount of discipline. Arrive with the fluid already changed rather than planning to do it in the car park. Take the out lap seriously and bring the temperature up with a handful of progressive applications instead of one big stop at the end of the straight. Between runs, put the 959 on its stand and let the air get at the discs. And in the final session, when the light is going, move the braking markers back a little rather than trusting eyes that are working harder than they were an hour earlier.
Fitment and Compatibility
This front entry belongs to the Panigale 959 as Accossato lists it, 2016 through 2020, the 959 Corse named in the same table. Other models in the Panigale family are covered by different article numbers, so order against the designation on the papers. The rear wheel of the 959 is served by the AGPA42 across the identical seasons, and the DK008, DK053 and DKS035 appear in the disc programme for it. One box equals one caliper; the front wheel is clamped from both sides.
Road Approval
No German ABE exists for the AGPA177EV1 in our records, and no inspection certificate accompanies it. We therefore sell the pads for circuit and competition use and not for the road network.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPA177 pads in the EV1 material, boxed as the set for one front caliper of the Panigale 959. Two boxes complete the front wheel.
