DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Panigale 1299 in the hands of a rider still learning a circuit is an interesting combination: far more machine than the lap times need, and a brake that has to be understood before the rest makes sense. Accossato's EV1 street/track material is the one it names for road riding and for amateur track use, which describes that owner exactly. Article AGPA106EV1 presses it onto the AGPA106 front carrier and is listed for the 1299 from 2015 to 2018.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Ducati Panigale 1299, model years 2015 to 2018
- AGPA106EV1: the AGPA106 carrier with the EV1 street/track material
- Accossato names road use and amateur circuit sessions for it
- Covers the 1299, the 1299 R and the R Final Edition
- Two pads to a box, one box per front caliper
- The front wheel carries a caliper on each side
- ST, EV2 and ZXC are the other materials available
- No German ABE on file; competition part
Construction and Material Quality
Two uses, one material: Accossato asks this compound to serve a public road and an amateur session inside a circuit, and that dual brief is what sets it apart from the rest of the range. Behind the friction layer the AGPA106 carrier is the same plate the other three materials use, which keeps every fitting detail on the Panigale 1299 unchanged. Offering several materials on a single carrier is how the company lets one part number serve riders who want very different things from it.
Learning a Circuit at a Measured Pace
Getting to know a circuit happens in small steps. First you learn where the corners are, then where they end, and only after that where the hard work on the lever can begin. A novice group session on a Panigale 1299 is mostly an exercise in restraint: short shifts, early stops, and the gradual discovery that the bike will carry far more speed into a corner than instinct suggests. The front brake is the tool for all of it, and it needs to be honest rather than dramatic.
An instructor often notices the brake before the rider does. Uneven pad wear between the two calipers, a lever that creeps closer to the bar as the session goes on, a disc with a lip worn into it: each of those changes what the bike does at the end of a straight. Look at both sides when the wheel comes out, renew the pads as a pair across the axle, and give a new set a session of gentle use before the Panigale 1299 is asked for a serious stop.
Fitment and Compatibility
This entry covers the front wheel of the Panigale 1299 for 2015 through 2018, with the 1299 R and the R Final Edition sharing the listing. One caliper per side of the wheel means one box per side. The AGPA42 is the rear answer for the same machine over those years, and Accossato's disc programme includes the DKS036 for it. The smaller twin-cylinder Panigale models each have separate entries and should not be ordered from this one.
Road Approval
Our documentation contains no ABE and no German test certificate for AGPA106EV1. Accossato mentions amateur track work in its own description, and competition is the context in which we can sell the article.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPA106 pads in the EV1 street/track material, one box, one caliper. A front change on a Panigale 1299 uses a pair of boxes.
