DescriptionThe whole story▼
Ask the owner of a Multistrada 1200 S where the bike is happiest and the answer is usually a road rather than a destination: a stretch of switchbacks ridden twice in a morning, once to learn it and once to enjoy it. That is road riding at its most demanding, and it is the use Accossato has in mind with the EV1 street/track material, sold on the AGPA106 front pad as article AGPA106EV1 and described as giving strong grip on the street and at amateur circuit level. The entry covers the S models of 2015 to 2017.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Ducati Multistrada 1200 S, 2015 to 2017
- AGPA106EV1: the AGPA106 carrier with the EV1 street/track material
- Accossato names street riding and amateur circuit use in the same line
- A choice for owners who ride mountain roads at a committed pace
- Takes in the S, the S D-Air, the S Touring and the S Pikes Peak
- The wheel has two calipers, so a complete set is two boxes
- ST, EV2 and ZXC sit on the identical carrier
- No German ABE in our files; competition part
Construction and Material Quality
The factory line for this compound does two jobs at once, and the second half is the one worth pausing on: amateur circuit use. That single adjective sets the boundary of the claim honestly. It says the material is at home in the kind of session most owners actually ride, and it stops short of saying anything about a race grid, where other articles in the same family take over. For a quick road rider on a Multistrada 1200 S that is the right end of the catalogue, and the AGPA106 plate underneath keeps the fitting identical to every other version.
A Favourite Road, Ridden Twice
Everyone has one: a climb of tight switchbacks with a cafe at the top, or a valley road where the corners arrive in a rhythm you can learn. Ridden properly it becomes a sequence of firm, brief applications, one every few seconds, the front of the bike loading and unloading over and over on a warm afternoon. That is not touring, and it is not circuit work either. It sits between the two, and it is where most of the hard work a road motorcycle ever does actually takes place.
The one caution on roads like that is what appears without warning: a coach on the wrong side of the line, gravel washed across the exit of a hairpin, a cyclist hidden behind a rock face. A front brake that responds the same way every time is worth more at those moments than any amount of outright force. Before a day of it, run a hand over the discs, check that neither caliper is dragging when the wheel is spun, and make sure a recently fitted set has a few gentle stops behind it.
Fitment and Compatibility
The application data groups four machines here. The S and the S D-Air are listed from 2015 to 2017, the S Pikes Peak from 2016 to 2017 and the S Touring only as far as 2016, and in every case the pad belongs at the front. Because two calipers do that work, one box finishes half the job. The Multistrada 1200 without the S badge uses a different front article. At the rear, Accossato lists the AGPA29 for these same years, and the DKS053 is the disc in its programme for the model.
Road Approval
No ABE, no German test certificate: neither has reached us for this article, and it is supplied for racing and closed-course use only.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPA106 pads in the EV1 street/track material, one caliper's worth per box. The front of the Multistrada 1200 S needs two boxes.
