Most riders have one road they keep going back to, half an hour of second and third gear that is ridden a dozen times a summer and known corner by corner. The R nineT Urban G/S, the version that borrows the look of an older BMW enduro, is good company on that sort of road, and the front brake is what gets used hardest. Accossato offers the AGPA96 plate in the EV1 street/track compound for the Urban G/S of 2017 to 2023: a material the firm places between its everyday range and its racing range, suited to spirited road riding and to amateur days on a circuit.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato changes the friction layer and leaves the plate alone, so the difference between this number and its neighbours is entirely in what meets the disc. The claim attached to this one is deliberately modest in scope and generous in application: grip that holds up on a demanding road and stands the occasional session with the transponder fitted. What the company says about its pads generally applies here too, that they wear down unhurriedly. Riders who have spent a season pushing hard on a favourite stretch will recognise why that is worth having. Two pads make up the contents of the box, filling one caliper.
Riding a Road You Already Know
Familiarity changes the way a brake is used. On a road learned by heart you arrive at each corner carrying more speed than a stranger would, so the lever comes in later and harder, and it happens again and again for half an hour without much cooling in between. That pattern, repeated through a summer, is a fair imitation of track work even though the tarmac is public and the hazards are entirely real. Leave a margin for the tractor that is always around the wrong bend, and give the machine an easy few minutes before you park it. Check the pad thickness on the R nineT more often than the service book suggests once you start riding that way; the number of hard stops per outing, not the mileage, is what wears a front pad down.
Fitment and Compatibility
The AGPA96 is listed for the front of the Urban G/S version from 2017 to 2023. The original R nineT, on sale since 2014, uses the AGPA177 in the same position, and behind either machine the AGPA29 handles the rear from 2014 to 2023. For the front wheel Accossato also catalogues the DK006 and DK007 discs. One caliper per box means two boxes for a complete front set, and the pair should go on together; a wheel gripped by fresh material on one side and tired material on the other never feels right.
Road Approval
Nothing in our paperwork approves this pad for public roads: no German ABE, no test report. The AGPA96EV1 is accordingly sold for closed circuits and for competition.
