DescriptionThe whole story▼
Every so often a K 1300 S owner books a track day, and the bike turns out to be far better at it than the paddock expects. The BMW of 2009 to 2015 is heavy and comfortable, but it has the engine for a long straight and the stability for a fast corner, and an afternoon of sessions asks the front brake for far more than a year of commuting ever did. Accossato's EV1 street/track material on the AGPA56 front plate is written for precisely that double life: a road bike that is sometimes taken somewhere with no speed limit and a lot of corners.
Key Features
- Front pads for the BMW K 1300 S, built 2009 to 2015
- Article number AGPA56EV1, the front plate in the EV1 street/track material
- Accossato aims this compound at road riding and amateur track sessions
- High stopping power is the property the maker puts first
- One box is one caliper; the front wheel of this bike carries two
- The Sintered (ST) material covers the same plate for all-weather use
- AGPP97 is the rear article number for the same machine
- No German ABE documented; intended for closed circuits
Construction and Material Quality
The article number tells you which face sits on the AGPA56 plate, and this one is EV1 street/track. Accossato places that material between its everyday compounds and the ones built for competition, describing its grip as excellent on the public road and in amateur track use. It is a deliberately two-sided claim, and it fits a machine that lives a two-sided life. The pad itself drops into the caliper exactly as its sibling does; the difference is in how it answers when the brake has been used hard and repeatedly rather than once at a junction. A box holds the two pads that fill one caliper, no more.
A Sports Tourer on a Track Day
The first session teaches a K 1300 S rider what their brakes have been missing. On the road a heavy machine is slowed hard perhaps twice in an hour; on a circuit it happens five or six times a lap, with no cooling stretch worth the name in between. Heat builds in the pads and discs, and a material chosen for comfort can start to feel vague, with the lever sitting closer to the bar than it did in the morning. That is the point where a firmer compound earns its money. It is also the point where the rest of the routine matters: come in a lap early rather than a lap late, let the bike stand and cool rather than parking it with the brake held on, look at how much friction material is left before the next session, and check the fluid, which is the quiet witness to how hard the afternoon has been.
Fitment and Compatibility
The AGPA56 is listed for the front of the K 1300 S across the 2009 to 2015 build years. Two calipers work the front wheel, so a full change takes two boxes, and pads belong in as a matched wheel rather than as a single side. For a K 1300 S used mainly on wet roads the same plate carries the sintered material instead; at the rear the AGPP97 covers the same years, and Accossato also lists the DK007 disc for this bike.
Road Approval
The compound name mentions the street, but our files contain no German ABE and no approval mark for the AGPA56EV1. We can therefore only offer it for circuits and competition, not for a registered K 1300 S on public roads.
