DescriptionThe whole story▼
The first time an RSV4 1100 Factory rolls out of a circuit's pit exit, its owner usually discovers that road braking habits do not transfer. Corners arrive in a fixed order, the same point has to be found lap after lap, and the front brake does more work in twenty minutes than in a month of commuting. Accossato's AGPA106 front pads for the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory of 2019 to 2024 are offered in the EV1 street/track compound, which the company aims at road riding combined with amateur circuit use.
Key Features
- EV1 street/track front pads for the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory, 2019 to 2024
- Accossato part AGPA106; one box covers one caliper, and this Aprilia has two at the front
- For owners who ride to the circuit, book novice sessions and ride home again
- Accossato says the compound gives excellent grip for street riding and for amateur track use
- Also available in sintered, EV2 and ceramic racing versions
- Rear brake pads for the same bike: Accossato AGPA42, 2019 to 2025
- Accossato lists the DKS032 floating disc for this model as well
- No German ABE or test mark documented; racing and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Between the everyday compounds and the ones Accossato reserves for competition sits EV1 street/track, described by the firm as offering excellent grip both on the street and in amateur track use. That double job is the difficult one. The material has to give a predictable response at a set of lights on the way out of town and still be doing sensible work at the end of a session in which it has been brought up to temperature on every lap. Accossato approaches that by holding wear down and by preventing heat from running away inside the pad, which is what stops the lever travelling further and further as a session goes on.
Your First Full-Size Circuit
A track day begins long before the sighting laps. Tape over the lights, check the fluid, look at the pads and pack a torque wrench; then listen properly in the briefing, because flags and overtaking rules are what keep a novice group safe. Once you are out, spend three or four laps learning the order of the corners before you think about braking points at all, and use the markers the circuit provides rather than inventing your own from trackside furniture that may be moved between sessions.
The braking itself changes character on a circuit. On the road you slow for what you cannot see; here you slow for a corner you can already picture, which tempts you to leave it later every lap. An RSV4 1100 Factory will accept far more than most riders can, so the discipline is to add entry speed in small steps and to listen to what the front tyre says before adding any more. Come in early if the lever starts to feel long, let the bike cool with the brakes released between sessions, and look at the pads each time rather than at the end of the day.
Fitment and Compatibility
The AGPA106 is Accossato's front reference for the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory from 2019 to 2024; its rear counterpart, the AGPA42, is quoted from 2019 to 2025. Order two boxes if both front calipers are due, which is normally the case, and fit them at the same time so the two sides behave alike. Keep the worn pads until the new ones are in your hand and compare them. For discs, the DKS032 is the Accossato listing that belongs to this model.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no test mark have been issued to us for this compound, so the pads leave our warehouse as competition parts.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPA106 pads in EV1 arrive in one box, which serves one front caliper of the RSV4.
