DescriptionThe whole story▼
For riders who want five buttons but a layout matched exactly to what they plan to wire, Accossato offers the PS005 as a customised version of its five-button panel, built to order for either side of the handlebar. Rather than arriving with a fixed set of colours and switch types like the PS004, each button here is specified individually once the intended function for that position is known.
Key Features
- Accossato Racing customised switch panel, 5 buttons
- Available in a right-hand or left-hand version
- Each button can be monostable or bistable
- Button colours chosen according to the function intended for each one
- CNC-worked aluminium, black anodised finish
- Supplied with risers to fix it to the handlebar
- Cable length approximately 55 cm, weight approximately 145 g
Fitment and Compatibility
The PS005 clamps to the handlebar using the supplied risers rather than bolting to a master cylinder, so it is not tied to a specific motorcycle model; what matters is whether the chosen side of the bar has room for a five-button panel and its clamp. Accossato builds the panel once the side and the function of each button have been settled, so fitment here is mainly a question of available handlebar space.
Customising Side and Button Function
Specifying a PS005 means choosing the mounting side first, right or left, and then deciding for each of the five buttons whether it should be monostable, for a simple press-and-release action, or bistable, for one that holds a toggled position; the colour assigned to each button follows from that choice rather than from a fixed scheme. Once built, the panel clamps to the bar with the supplied risers in the usual way, and a 55 cm cable, weighing around 145 g complete with the panel, runs back towards the bike's switchgear or an aftermarket control unit.
Road Approval
Accossato does not document an ABE or Teilegutachten for the PS005, and Inter-Pace keeps none on file. Fitting a custom five-button panel to the handlebar of a bike used on public roads is worth checking with a testing authority or qualified workshop beforehand. Accossato places the part in its Racing range, aimed mainly at track and closed-course use.
Scope of Delivery
The PS005 is delivered built to the specification chosen, complete with its five buttons, cable and the risers needed for mounting. Wiring the cable into the bike's own switchgear or an aftermarket control unit is left to the installer.
