DescriptionThe whole story▼
Sand tracks such as Lommel in Belgium are known as some of the toughest in motocross. The ground is soft, the ruts are deep and the bumps keep coming, and a 250 two-stroke has to be kept revving hard to stay on top of it all. The TM Racing MX 250 two-stroke has the power for that, but it needs the clutch to keep it in the right place. Accossato's C7283 is a folding clutch lever for the MX 250 two-stroke of 2010 to 2019, made in Italy from Ergal 7075, with a long blade for four fingers.
Key Features
- Folding clutch lever for the TM Racing MX 250 two-stroke, 2010 to 2019
- Fits the original clutch mount in place of the standard lever
- Long blade with room for four fingers
- Anti-break hinge gives the blade room to fold forward
- CNC-machined from Ergal 7075 in Italy
- Blade in black, blue, orange or red, dark base
- No German ABE documented; for motocross and off-road use
Construction and Material Quality
Two parts, one material: the C7283 is milled on CNC machines in Italy from solid Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy, and Accossato cites strength, reliability and low weight as the reasons. The dark base sits on the clutch pivot. The blade, in black, blue, orange or red, hangs from it on a hinge that lets it fold. It is the long blade of Accossato's off-road range, drawn for four fingers.
Deep Sand
In deep sand the engine is always working against drag. Riders keep the MX 250 two-stroke in a higher gear than on hard-pack and use the clutch to hold the revs where the power is, especially out of turns where the bike has to push through a berm of loose sand. The throttle stays open, the clutch is slipped briefly to help the engine through the heaviest parts, and the rider sits back to let the front float. By the end of a moto, the left hand has done a great deal of work.
Falls in sand look soft but can still be costly. A bike that stalls in a sand rut tips over and sinks, and when the rider tries to haul it out, it may fall again on the other side. The clutch lever can be bent against the rut edge or pressed deep into the sand under the bike. Because the C7283's blade is hinged, it has room to fold forward rather than break, which gives the TM a better chance of carrying on with a working clutch. Sand gets everywhere, so rinse the hinge after the day; a blade that moves freely is ready for the next fall.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the C7283 for the TM Racing MX 250 two-stroke of 2010 to 2019 and fits it at the original clutch mount. A folding brake lever for the same bike, the B8206, covers a wider span that begins in 2001. Both are available in black, blue and red; orange is only offered for this clutch lever, gold only for the brake lever.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE for the C7283. It is a part for motocross tracks and off-road competition, as is the MX 250 two-stroke itself.
Scope of Delivery
