DescriptionThe whole story▼
A travel enduro like the SWM Superdual T spends most of its life on tarmac, but many owners want to know what the bike can do where the road ends. Off-road training courses on private ground are the usual place to find out: a day of slow riding, turning on loose surfaces and crossing obstacles, with plenty of tip-overs along the way. For the Superdual T of 2017, Accossato offers the C7182, a clutch lever cut from Ergal 7075 whose long blade takes four fingers and can tip forward at a hinge when the bike goes over.
Key Features
- Folding clutch lever for the SWM Superdual T, model year 2017
- Listed by Accossato as Superdual 600
- Replaces the standard lever at the original clutch mount
- Long blade for a four-finger grip
- Anti-break hinge between dark base and coloured blade
- Machined from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy
- Blade in black, blue or orange
- No German ABE documented; for off-road use, not for public roads
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato makes the C7182 from Ergal 7075, an aluminium alloy with far more strength than the everyday grades, milling it from a solid block on CNC machines in Italy. Its stated goals are strength, reliability and a low weight, qualities that matter on a heavy travel bike as much as on a racer. The lever has two parts: a dark base that stays on the clutch pivot and a blade in black, blue or orange, linked to the base by a hinge. Like all of Accossato's off-road clutch levers, it has a long blade, with room for four fingers to pull together.
A Day at Off-Road School
Instructors on these courses start slowly. Riders practise standing on the pegs, walking-pace figure eights on gravel, tight turns on a slope and stopping without putting a foot down. Nearly all of it is clutch work: holding the Superdual T at the edge of the friction point, adding a little drive to keep the bike upright, pulling in before it stalls. A long lever lets the whole hand share those small movements, and that fine control is exactly what the exercises are meant to teach.
Tip-overs are part of the syllabus, planned or not. A loaded travel enduro falls slowly but heavily, and on the left side the clutch lever is one of the first parts to touch the ground. Training grounds are full of stones and hard edges, and a solid lever can bend or break on them. The C7182's hinge allows the blade to fold forward under the load, improving the chances of finishing the course with a usable clutch. Accossato designed its folding levers so that a fall need not end a race or a tour, and the same thinking works on a training day.
Fitment and Compatibility
In Accossato's catalogue the SWM Superdual T of 2017 appears as Superdual 600, and that is the bike the C7182 is listed for, at the original clutch mount. Other model years are not named, and a matching brake lever does not exist in this range for the Superdual T.
Road Approval
The C7182 has no German ABE. Because the Superdual T is a road-registered travel enduro, this matters: with the lever fitted, the bike is not approved for public roads. It is intended for off-road use, such as training grounds and other closed terrain.
Scope of Delivery
