A motocross race day gives each rider a short look at the track before the gate drops, and on an unfamiliar circuit that sighting lap is precious. It is when you pick your braking markers: a post, a tyre, a change in the colour of the dirt. On a KTM 250 SX, a two-stroke with strong power and the speed to match, those markers come up quickly. Accossato's B8283 fits the 250 SX of 2014 to 2022; it is machined in Italy from Ergal 7075, with a blade on a hinge that can let it fold forward in a crash.

Construction and Material Quality
The B8283 is shaped by CNC machining from a solid billet of Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy, and the work is done in Italy. Accossato's aims are strength, low weight and reliability. The lever has two parts: a dark base that sits on the master cylinder pivot and carries the folding joint, and a blade in black, blue or orange that pivots on it. The brake blade is short, laid out by Accossato for three fingers, which leaves the rest of the hand to hold the bar through braking bumps.
One Sighting Lap to Find the Markers
A good braking marker is something that will still be there on the last lap. A rut or a patch of dark dirt may change as the race goes on; a course marker, a tree beside the track or the edge of a tyre wall will not. On the sighting lap riders note where they want to start braking for each turn, then refine them over the first laps of the race as the surface wears and their confidence grows. On a strong two-stroke, braking points move further back with every lap, until something goes wrong.
What goes wrong is usually a small misjudgement: a marker passed a fraction late, a front wheel that locks in the braking bumps, a slide into the back of the rider ahead. The 250 SX goes down, often on its right, and the brake lever hits the track. With the B8283, the blade can fold forward on its joint rather than breaking off, so there is a fair chance of rejoining the race with a working front brake. It does not make the lever immune, but it gives a rider who misjudged one marker another chance to get the next one right.
Fitment and Compatibility
On the KTM 250 SX, the B8283 is listed from 2014 to 2022 and replaces the lever on the original front brake master cylinder. The folding clutch lever C7283 covers a longer period of the same bike, 2006 to 2022, and is additionally made in red. For a 250 SX from 2014 onwards, both sides can therefore carry folding levers in a matching colour.
Road Approval
The B8283 has no documented German ABE. Like the 250 SX, it is meant for motocross circuits and closed off-road ground.
