DescriptionThe whole story▼
Before a Panigale V4 R laps a circuit, it usually travels there in a van or on a trailer, and the left end of its handlebar spends the journey close to straps, ramps and side panels. The Accossato LV015 is a clutch lever for the 2019 V4 R that is made with such knocks in mind. It fits the original clutch master cylinder, the reach can be adjusted to your hand, and its coloured blade is hinged to a black base, so it can fold away when it is hit instead of taking the full blow.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Ducati Panigale V4 R, 2019
- Works with the original hydraulic clutch master cylinder
- Coloured blade on a hinge that can fold back when struck
- Reach adjustment built into the black base
- RST blade with lightening cut-out or solid NRST blade
- Eight colours: black, blue, gold, green, orange, red, silver, titanium
- Standard length only
- Sold for track use; no German ABE on record
Construction and Material Quality
Two anodised aluminium parts make up the LV015, each machined on CNC equipment. The black one sits at the pivot of the clutch master cylinder and carries the adjuster that sets the distance to the grip. The other is the blade your fingers pull, in whichever of the eight colours you choose, joined to the base by a hinge. One of those colours is titanium, a name for the anodised shade rather than for the material. With the RST version, the blade has a lightening cut-out that removes a little aluminium; the NRST blade has none.
Ramps, Straps and a Van Wall
Loading is when many track bikes collect their first scratches. Pushing a V4 R up a narrow ramp, you walk beside it with your left hand on the grip, and one misstep can tip the bike towards you or away. Once it stands in the van, ratchet straps pull down on the bars, and the clutch lever ends up a hand's width from a steel panel or from the next bike. Brake hard on the motorway and the load shifts; a lever resting against something can be forced back. A folding blade gives that force somewhere to go. The hinge may let the blade swing aside, which lowers the chance of reaching the circuit with a broken clutch lever and no spare in the toolbox. It is still wise to route the straps clear of the levers and to check the blade and its adjuster in the paddock before the first session.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names the LV015 for a single year of the Panigale V4 R, 2019, filed under its 998 reference. It pairs with the LV013 folding brake lever for the same year, and the RA002 brings a remote adjuster to the brake side, again for 2019. Ordering clutch and brake levers in one colour gives the V4 R a matched cockpit, while a contrasting pair suits riders who like the two sides to differ.
Road Approval
This clutch lever has no documented German ABE. We therefore offer it for circuit use only.
