DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Panigale 959 parked outdoors under a cover looks well protected. In a strong wind, though, a cover can act like a sail, and a bike on its side stand is not made to resist a hard push from the right. When it goes, it goes onto the left side, clutch lever first. Accossato's LV015 is a folding clutch lever for the Panigale 959 of 2016 to 2019. It fits the original hydraulic clutch master cylinder, is adjustable in reach, and has a hinged blade.
Key Features
- Folding clutch lever for the Panigale 959, 2016 to 2019
- Mounted on the original hydraulic clutch master cylinder
- Hinged blade, can fold away when struck
- Adjustable distance to the grip
- Eight blade colours on a black anodised base
- RST or NRST blade
- CNC-machined aluminium
Construction and Material Quality
Two parts, one material: the LV015 is machined from aluminium and anodised, with a black base at the pivot and a coloured blade hinged to it. The base carries the adjuster for the reach. Eight blade colours are offered, from a plain black to a bright gold or orange, and you can choose a solid blade or one with Accossato's RST lightening cut-out machined through it.
When the Cover Becomes a Sail
Covers are good at keeping off rain, dust and birds, and less good in a storm. A gust that gets under the fabric turns the whole bike into something that can be pushed, and a Panigale 959 leaning on its side stand rests on just three small points of contact. Many riders have come out after a windy night to find their bike on its side, with the cover wrapped around it and the clutch lever underneath.
The LV015 gives the lever a chance in that situation, since its blade can fold on the hinge instead of taking the full load. Prevention still matters more: a cover with a strap that runs under the bike, a spot sheltered from the wind, or a parking position with the nose into the wind all reduce the risk. If the Panigale 959 does go over, lift it carefully, check the blade and the hinge, and look at the rest of the left side before riding, because a lever that survived does not mean nothing else was touched.
Fitment and Compatibility
The LV015 is Accossato's folding clutch lever for the Panigale 959 of 2016 to 2019, the Corse version and US models included, and it replaces the original clutch lever. On the brake side, the LV013 and the RA002 with remote adjuster cover the same years.
Road Approval
There is no documented German ABE for the LV015; it is sold for track use.
