DescriptionThe whole story▼
The R6 has long been one of the most common bikes on supersport and club racing grids, and the 2017 version, styled after the R1, carried that tradition on. Anyone who races one packs a spares box for every weekend, and levers are always on the list. The Accossato LV020 may keep that box a little fuller for longer. It is a folding brake lever for the R6 of 2017 to 2019, made for the original radial master cylinder, with adjustable reach and a blade that can fold at its joint.
Key Features
- Folding brake lever for the Yamaha R6, 2017 to 2019
- For the original radial brake master cylinder
- Blade folds at the joint with its black base
- Adjustable reach
- Eight blade colours including titanium
- RST (lightening cut-out) or NRST blade
- CNC-machined, anodised aluminium; standard length
Construction and Material Quality
Machined from aluminium on CNC equipment and anodised, the LV020 is made up of two parts that do different jobs. The black base locates on the pivot of the radial master cylinder and contains the reach adjuster. The blade, in black, blue, gold, green, orange, red, silver or titanium, is connected to the base by a joint and is the part that can fold. You can order it with the RST opening, which lightens the blade slightly, or as the solid NRST version; either way it has the standard length.
What Goes in the Spares Box
A race-weekend spares box for an R6 usually holds the parts most likely to suffer in a crash: levers, a gear pedal, a footpeg, perhaps a clip-on, plus fairing panels if there is room in the van. Brake levers sit near the top of that list, because a snapped one ends a race weekend as surely as a far more expensive failure, and because they break easily when a bike slides. A folding blade reduces the chance of that, so the spare may stay in its box a little longer. That is not a reason to leave it at home. Keep one ready to fit, ideally a second lever already set to the same reach, so that a replacement does not change the feel you are used to. Label it, store it with the tools it needs, and practise the swap before the first race rather than in a hurry between a crash and qualifying. On an R6, where the whole weekend is often decided by small margins, a calm five-minute job beats a frantic search through the paddock.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the LV020 for the R6 from 2017 to 2019, under the entry YZF 600 R6, for the original radial master cylinder. The LV022 covers the same years as the second folding option. For earlier R6 models, Accossato's list names the fixed EDR104 brake lever, from 2005 to 2016, while the fixed EDR015 is listed for 2017 to 2020.
Road Approval
No German ABE has been documented for this R6 lever, which we sell for racing use.
