DescriptionThe whole story▼
Watch onboard footage from top-level motorcycle racing and you will often see a rider reach for something with the left hand on a straight. Many of them are adjusting the front brake lever through a remote adjuster. The Panigale V4, whose engine was derived from Ducati's racing V4, invites the same approach on track. Accossato's RA002 brings it to the Panigale V4 of 2018 to 2019: a folding brake lever with a 90-degree remote adjuster, meant for racing, where the lever setting has to be corrected on the move and the throttle hand stays where it is.
Key Features
- Folding brake lever with remote adjuster for the Panigale V4, 2018 to 2019
- 90-degree remote adjuster operated with the left hand
- Holder sizes 35 mm and 60 mm
- For the original brake master cylinder
- Blade in black, blue, gold, green, orange, red or silver
- RST or NRST blade on a hinged joint
- Anodised aluminium, CNC-machined
- No German ABE documented, for racing and track days
Construction and Material Quality
The RA002 combines Accossato's folding lever, a black base at the pivot with a coloured blade on a hinge, with a remote adjuster. The lever is machined from aluminium and anodised; the blade is offered in seven colours and in RST or NRST form. The adjuster's holder comes in 35 mm or 60 mm. Accossato's know-how in brake discs comes from Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3.
An Idea From the Grid
Racing riders adjust the brake lever during a race for simple reasons: brakes heat up, tyres wear, fuel burns off and the rider's own feel changes over the distance. Stopping is not an option, so the adjustment has to happen on the move, and the left hand is the one that is free on a straight. A remote adjuster brings the control to where that hand can reach it.
On a Panigale V4 at a track day or club race, the logic is the same, only with more relaxed consequences. The RA002 lets you fine-tune the lever setting during a session, for instance as the brakes warm up after the out lap or as your confidence in a corner grows. It takes practice to do it smoothly, so start with small changes on the longest straight. And because the blade folds on a hinge, a slow slide into the gravel does not have to end with a broken lever on the Panigale V4.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Panigale V4 of 2018 and 2019 appears in Accossato's list for the RA002 under its V4 1100 references, and the lever mounts on the original brake master cylinder. Without the remote adjuster, the LV013 is Accossato's folding brake lever for the same years, with the LV015 as its clutch partner. The Panigale V4 R and V4 S are offered as separate products.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented for the RA002; it is intended and sold for the track.
