DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Panigale V4 S arrived in 2018 as the better-equipped version of the first Panigale V4, and owners who take one to a circuit usually start by thinking about what a crash would cost. The Accossato LV013 answers a small part of that question. It is a folding brake lever in anodised aluminium for the V4 S of 2018 and 2019, mounted on the original master cylinder, with a blade that can hinge away if it is struck and a reach that can be set to your hand.
Key Features
- For the Ducati Panigale V4 S, model years 2018 and 2019
- Replaces the brake lever at the original master cylinder
- Blade joined to the base by a folding hinge
- Grip distance adjustable at the base
- RST blade with lightening cut-out, or solid NRST
- Blade colours: black, blue, gold, green, orange, red, silver, titanium
- Single standard length
- Track use: no German ABE documented
Construction and Material Quality
A two-part lever like the LV013 is only as good as the way its parts are made. The black base and the coloured blade meet at a hinge, and Accossato mills both from aluminium on CNC machines. Both parts are anodised afterwards: the base in black, the blade in one of eight colours. Titanium is among them as an anodised colour, not as a different material. The adjuster for the grip distance sits in the base, next to the pivot on the V4 S master cylinder, and the RST option adds a lightening cut-out to the blade.
Protection Works as a Set
Riders preparing a Panigale V4 S for track days often fit frame sliders, bar ends or a lever guard before anything else. None of these parts is a guarantee, and none works alone. In a low-speed fall or a slide, the bike touches the ground at a few points, and which of them meets the tarmac first depends on the angle. A folding brake lever closes one gap in that set: if the blade is struck, the hinge can let it swing back instead of taking the whole load, as a lever without a joint would. The result may be a scratched but usable blade, which can decide between packing up and riding the next session. Sliders and guards remain separate decisions. The LV013 does not replace them, but it can make a small incident cheaper.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the LV013 for the Panigale V4 S from 2018 to 2019. That covers the standard V4 S, the V4 S Corse of 2019 and the versions Accossato records for Thailand and the USA. For the clutch of the same bikes there is the LV015, and the RA002 adds a remote adjuster on the brake side; both cover 2018 and 2019. Accossato's fixed EDF099 is an option for riders who prefer a brake lever without a hinge. The V4 S from 2020 onwards is outside this listing.
Road Approval
Because no German ABE is documented for this lever, we supply it for track use.
