DescriptionThe whole story▼
Grips wear out, and when they are replaced, many riders choose a different pattern, a softer compound or a thicker section. What is easy to overlook is that a thicker grip moves your fingers closer to the lever before anything else has changed. Accossato's EST333P is a clutch lever for the Street Triple 765 R of 2017 and 2018, machined from aluminium and fitted at the original clutch mounting, with a reach that can be set to suit the grips you actually have.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Street Triple 765 R, 2017 and 2018
- Installs at the original clutch mounting
- Reach adjustable to suit new or thicker grips
- Anodised aluminium, CNC-machined
- Hub in black, blade in any of seven colours
- Standard length approximately 138 mm in every colour
- Short and long blades available in some colours
- Fixed lever, no folding joint
Construction and Material Quality
The EST333P is milled from aluminium on CNC machines and anodised, the hub in black with the pivot and adjuster, the blade in the colour of your choice. There is no hinge; the lever is a single fixed piece. That rigidity means the reach you set is held exactly, a detail that matters when you are adjusting in small steps to suit a new grip.
New Grips, New Distance
The distance that counts is the gap between the surface of the grip and the lever blade. A thicker grip narrows that gap; heated grips, which are often bulkier than standard ones, do the same. The result can be a clutch lever that suddenly feels too close, with the fingers trapped against the grip at full pull. After fitting new grips to a Street Triple 765 R, sit on the bike with your gloves on and check the clutch: at full pull, the blade should not squeeze your fingers against the grip, and at rest it should meet them where they naturally fall. The EST333P's adjuster lets you move the blade outwards to restore the gap. Thinner grips have the opposite effect, leaving the lever further away, and the adjuster can bring it back in. While you are at it, check the right side too: the throttle must still snap shut on its own after new grips are fitted, since a grip rubbing against the switch housing or the bar end is a common fitting mistake.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Street Triple 765 R, Accossato lists the EST333P in the 2017 and 2018 model years, at the original clutch mounting. Two brake levers are listed for the R: the EDF011 for 2017 and 2018 and the EDF035 for 2017 to 2022. If you want a matching pair, compare your original brake lever with the photos of both first.
Road Approval
The EST333P has not been documented with a German ABE; it is supplied for track use.
