DescriptionThe whole story▼
Every session on a Speed Triple 1050 R starts and ends at walking pace. You roll out of the paddock, wait at the end of the pit lane, then join the circuit on tyres that are not yet up to temperature, and afterwards you coast back in among mechanics and spectators. All of that is clutch work. The EST333P is Accossato's machined aluminium clutch lever for the R of 2016 and 2017, fitted at the original clutch mounting, with a reach you can set to suit your race gloves.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the 2016 and 2017 Speed Triple 1050 R
- Fits the original clutch mounting
- Adjustable distance to the grip
- Seven blade colours on a black hub
- Blade lengths short, standard and long; standard approximately 138 mm
- CNC-machined from aluminium and anodised
- One-piece fixed blade
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato produces the EST333P on CNC machines from aluminium, then anodises it: black for the hub, where the pivot and adjuster sit, and one of seven colours for the blade. There is no joint between pivot and tip. On a clutch lever that means a take-up point that stays in the same place and a lever that does not develop movement of its own over a season. The anodised surface also copes well with the knocks of track-day life, from paddock stands, transport and gloves.
Out of the Pit Lane
Joining the track is one of the few moments on a track day when the clutch really matters. The tyres are cold and offer little grip, the engine may still be warming up, and the riders already on the circuit are travelling far faster than you. What you want is a smooth, unhurried getaway: feed the clutch out steadily, add throttle gently and let the rear tyre take up the drive without spinning or snatching, then keep to the pit exit line until it ends. A lever within easy reach of your gloved fingers makes that easier, because the hand is not stretched open just when fine control is needed. Race gloves are usually stiffer and more heavily armoured than road gloves, so set the EST333P while wearing the pair you ride in on track. The end of each session is the same in reverse: rolling down the pit lane and through the paddock at walking pace, where a snatchy take-up is the last thing anyone around you needs. On the Speed Triple 1050 R, whose triple pulls strongly from low revs, the clutch is where that smoothness starts.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EST333P for the Speed Triple 1050 R from 2016; since the RS took over from the R for 2018, this product covers 2016 and 2017. For the R of 2012 to 2015, the matching clutch lever is the EST333. Accossato's brake lever for the 2016 and 2017 bike is the EDF099, offered in the same colours if you want a matching pair; the earlier R takes the EDF011.
Road Approval
German road use is not covered, as there is no ABE documentation for the EST333P. It is sold for the track.
Scope of Delivery
