DescriptionThe whole story▼
For many riders, the Ninja 125 is the first vehicle with a manual clutch they have ever owned. Before it came a bicycle or perhaps an automatic scooter, and neither teaches what the left hand does on a motorcycle: find the friction point, feed the clutch in against the throttle, and pull it in again before stopping. Accossato's ESK025 can make the learning easier. It replaces the clutch lever of the 2019 Ninja 125 with a CNC-machined aluminium one whose distance from the grip can be set to suit a new rider's hand.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Kawasaki Ninja 125, listed for 2019
- Reach to the grip adjustable
- Long blade for a lighter pull, in blue, gold, green or orange
- Standard length about 138 mm, all seven colours
- Replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mounting
- Anodised aluminium with a black hub
- No folding joint
- Packed in its own Accossato box
Construction and Material Quality
The ESK025 begins as aluminium that is shaped on CNC machines and anodised once machining is complete. Its hub, black on all versions, holds the pivot bore and the reach adjuster, and its blade is coloured to order. Anodising colours the outer layer of the metal itself, so a lever that gets brushed by boots, bags and jacket sleeves keeps its colour without chipping. Mechanically it is a fixed lever: one rigid blade, no hinge, and the same feel from the first pull of the day to the last.
Finding the Friction Point
The friction point is the short stretch of lever travel in which the clutch begins to transmit drive. Learning to find it by feel, without looking and without stalling, is the first real skill on a geared motorcycle, and it is learned by repetition: pulling away, rolling slowly, stopping, and doing it all again. A lever that is hard to reach turns that practice into a struggle, because the fingers work at full stretch while also trying to sense a small change in resistance. With the ESK025 adjusted closer to the grip, the friction point falls where the fingers are strong and sensitive. The long blade adds leverage for a lighter pull, which helps small or tired hands during a long practice session on the Ninja 125. As confidence grows, the reach can be moved out again, and riders who like to keep two fingers on the lever may later switch to the short blade.
Fitment and Compatibility
The 2019 model year is the one for which Accossato lists the ESK025 on the Ninja 125. It fits at the original clutch mounting in place of the stock lever. The EDF025 brake lever, also listed for 2019, is the matching part for the right hand of the Ninja 125.
Road Approval
The ESK025 lacks a documented German ABE and is therefore offered for use on the track.
