DescriptionThe whole story▼
A U-turn is the moment a chopper reminds you how long it is. The Honda VT1300CX Fury has a raked-out front end and a wheelbase to match, so turning it round in a narrow lane happens at walking pace, with the bars near full lock, a trace of throttle and the clutch slipping. For those few seconds the left lever is the most important control on the bike. The Accossato ESH626 is a CNC-machined aluminium clutch lever for the Fury, listed from 2009 to 2018, and its adjustable reach puts the friction point where your fingers can hold it.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the VT1300CX Fury, model years 2009 to 2018
- Seven blade colours, each on a black anodised hub
- Adjustable distance from the grip
- Short, standard (about 138 mm) and long blades
- Replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mounting
- Machined aluminium with an anodised finish
- Fixed one-piece construction, no hinge
- Packed in its own Accossato box
Construction and Material Quality
Where much of the brightwork on a cruiser is chromed or painted, the ESH626 is anodised. The treatment converts the outer layer of the machined aluminium into a hard oxide that absorbs the dye, so the colour belongs to the metal itself and there is no film to flake where a glove brushes past the blade every day. Before that, Accossato shapes the lever on CNC machinery. Only the blade is coloured; the hub stays black on every version and contains the pivot and the reach adjuster. From the hub outwards the lever is a single rigid piece, with no joint that could add play at the friction point.
Walking Pace on a Long Wheelbase
Slow riding on a Fury is a balance of three inputs. The throttle stays barely open and steady, a light touch on the rear brake keeps the bike settled, and the clutch, held in its friction zone, sets the speed: ease it out a fraction and the Fury creeps forward, draw it in a fraction and the drive fades. Control of that kind lives in the fingertips, and fingertips are most precise when the lever sits where the hand already is. With the blade far from the grip, the fingers stay stretched open for the whole manoeuvre and every small correction becomes clumsy. Bringing the ESH626 closer with the adjuster lets you hold the friction point with the fingers comfortably bent. The long blade gives more leverage and a lighter pull, welcome when a crowded car park turns into a long sequence of stop, creep and turn; the short blade suits riders who work the clutch with two fingers and keep the others round the grip.
Fitment and Compatibility
The ESH626 appears in Accossato's list for the Fury from 2009 to 2018, under the catalogue name VTX 1300 CX, which stands for the VT1300CX Fury rather than the older VTX1300 range. It fits at the original clutch mounting in place of the stock lever. Across the bar, the EDF018 brake lever is listed for the same model years, so both sides of a Fury can be ordered in one colour.
Road Approval
The ESH626 has no documented German ABE. We offer it as a part for circuit use.
