DescriptionThe whole story▼
The NC750X is a bike for high mileage, and on high-mileage bikes small habits matter. One of them is where the fingers of the left hand rest between gear changes. Resting them on the clutch lever feels natural, but even light pressure can let the clutch slip, and over thousands of kilometres that means extra wear. Accossato's ESH250 is a CNC-machined aluminium clutch lever for the manual-gearbox NC750X of 2014 and 2015, with an adjustable reach that makes it easier to keep the fingers where they belong.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Honda NC750X with manual gearbox, 2014 to 2015
- DCT versions have no clutch lever and are not covered
- Replaces the original lever at the clutch mounting
- Reach adjustable to the hand
- Three blade lengths, the standard one approximately 138 mm
- Anodised aluminium with black hub
- Rigid construction, no hinge
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato cuts the ESH250 from solid aluminium on CNC machines, anodises it and finishes it in two tones: a black hub, which holds the pivot and the reach adjuster, and a blade in black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver or green. The lever is rigid and continuous, a single piece without a hinge, so the clutch responds to the same movement every time. The anodised finish is part of the metal and keeps its colour on a bike that sees rain and winter roads.
Not Riding the Clutch
Riding the clutch means travelling with the fingers resting on the lever. It happens most often when the lever sits so close to the grip that the fingers touch it even while the hand is simply holding on. The weight of the fingers alone can take up part of the free play, and on a bump, or when you tense up, the clutch may begin to slip without you noticing. Over time the plates wear and the clutch loses some of its bite. With the ESH250 you can place the blade just clear of your relaxed fingers: close enough to reach without stretching, far enough away to be left alone while you ride. Test the setting on a normal journey and notice where your fingers want to rest. If they drift onto the lever, move it out a little. On the NC750X, whose engine pulls well in high gears, there is seldom a reason to cover the clutch between shifts anyway.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESH250 for the NC750X of 2014 and 2015. It is made for the version with the manual gearbox; the NC750X with DCT has no clutch lever, and this lever does not apply to it. The EDF018 brake lever is listed for 2014 and 2015 as well as for 2021 to 2025, but for the later bikes Accossato's list contains no clutch lever.
Road Approval
Accossato's clutch lever has no documented German ABE. We sell it for use on race circuits.
